Hey guys!
So I just bought the ROCCAT KONE gaming mouse yesterday. I removed all previous mouse drivers, installed the KONE drivers, it asks me to reboot and I do it. (Oh, I'm running Vista 64bit btw)
After the reboot I plug my mouse in, it says there's a firmware update to do so I click 'OK' to do it. I get a message saying firmware update failed.
So, the mouse does nothing.
I try to do the firmware update as an administrator but still fails. I try to install the mouse to my other laptop and same problem continues. The mouse is dead.
I open ROCCAT config and it says I have 1.29 drivers installed and firmware versio is N/A. How is it possible? Did they sell me a dead mouse?
I tried to install all previous drivers and still the mouse is just dead and every time I plug it in, it asks me to accept a firmware update which fails.
Anyone got good ideas what to do? Or should I just walk back in store and say they sold me a blank mouse?![]()

Well... Guess someone with a working KONE can respond to you, since my mouse is without firmware, it's not working and I have to return it.

try it with one ubuntu live disk...

Problem solved. I got a new Razer Lachesis and some money when returning the faulty Roccat Kone back in store. They aren't going to order any new ones, since they've had to return so many bad ones back to the importer.
Well, I'm happy either way. Got a working gaming mouse now.
