    hi, I have a VAIO notebook that it has 512MB of memory.
    I want to know if I can add more RAM..
    the model or serie is VGN-FS840/W.

    Yeap, you can upgrade it.

    You just need sticks of 200pin SoDimm PC4200 533mhz or PC5300 667mhz RAM.

    I'll answer here instead of the PM you sent me.

    You can buy it at most online stores like NewEgg - however, I don't know where you live.

    A 1gb stick costs from 40-70 per stick, a 2gb stick costs $150+ per stick. You can upgrade to 4gb, but 2gb is usually enough.

    When buying RAM, it is better to buy from a reputable manufacturer, such as Kingston, Crucial, Corsair or OCZ.
