Before you buy please view this video I made right after also, I think its very important informaton.

I could have fixed this problem myself if I wanted too, but honestly I was too upset to bother and already setup the RMA for full refund.
I can say these things about the keyboard since I will not be doing the full review now.
- Its heafty, heavier than the Das near 4-5lbs.
- It has a nice tilt, it tilts up high with the feet witch I like.
- Its wider than normal, so it takes up more desk space and makes it a bit akward to use with mouse side by side.
- Even though it uses the Cherry MX Blue switches like my Das the keys were noticibly harder to push, did not feel as good, and felt more fatiqing.
- Keys are mostly standard layout but feel shifted just a tad, the F keys especially are shifted
- Have to get used to the M key's on the left easy to hit when going for control key if your not carefull.
- Looks freaking awesome
- Led is on keyboard not inside the key, keys are an opaqe plastic cap with the lettering made translucent as to let the light shine through.

The keys look weirdly shifted
Though... Pretty backlights :3 Too bad the quality of the keyboard doesn't match up the price tag -
I've been waiting for this product(In Europe) for many months. To see this review... Spiral Man, am loosing his spine to say the least.
I knew I wanted a Mechanical Keyboard, as I write A LOT and really am a hardcore typist. My only requirement was backlighting -
1) If I was going to spend a lot of money on a keyboard I should be able to use it in the dark
2) The Razer BlackWidow Ultimate was the only one that offered this.. Well I saw another one, but it looked very ugly and had a mushy website to order from.
I am on the fence about Razer Products. My very expensive Razer Mamba had hardcore build quality issues. It's really amazing how you need drivers, and firmware updates just for basic functionality.
On the other hand, my cheap Razer DeathAdder has been flawless. I think the fact that it's a more simple mouse that just allowed me to plug and play without all the bullcrap, has made it a better experience.
Does anyone know of any other upcoming mechanical keyboards with backlighting?Last edited by a moderator: May 6, 2015 -

The Deck Legend.
Its more expensive than the Blackwidow Ultimate but its supposed to be the pinnacle of build quality.
That is what I will get next but I want them to get the MX Clear (what they call tactile) switches on the red or green version, currently they only have MX Blacks (linear) on those colors. -
Damn, do you always keep a knife like that next to your keyboard?

Wow, too bad, the keyboard looks awesome. I like your Das Keyboard. I might sell my Lycosa and switch to that one for my office use.

Yeah the Das is so great for typing and well suited for office environment since its so sleek and professional looking.
The built in 2 port usb hub is probably handy for the office too.
May want to get the MX Brown switches though if you work around others since they are "silent" but they also require less pressure so not sure how it feels to type on them since I have not tried the MX Browns yet only the Blues. -
Hey Vicious, if you wanna try a pretty cool mechanical keyboard with backlighting, check out the XArmor U9BL-S
My friend uses it and loves it. -

Yeah I was looking at the XArmor stuff for weeks and every time I went to the website it was down. So I thought they maybe went out of business or something.
They are supposed to have a newer model soon that is better with new features over the older one.
Edit: yep site still down - http://www.xarmor-usa.com/store_closed.html
makes me a bit weary to buy from them. It has the MX Browns and a hand rest though, those are good points. Keyboard looks a bit cheapy honestly though but I cant say that means it is not built and performs well. -
Sorry to hear about the defect vicious.
I made a video, and I do apologize for sounding like a retard. I've been studying for 2 weeks for exams and forgot how to speak
YouTube - VID 20110406 00000
and when I say issue with the blackwidow, I meant the ultimate version. -

Yeah check this out though.

Its not just me.
Also the keys have a lot more play in them than the Das Keyboard, I am not used to it. Even in your video I see your shift key moving around quite a bit.
I was a bit hot headed maybe to go for the refund RMA right away maybe I should have tried to exchange it once. But this was not the first time I had issues. Infact as irony may have it my only razer product I really liked my Orochi I think just died on me about 5 minutes ago.
It has had this comotose issue for a while where it would die and I would have to repair it or restart the computer. Just now it died and wont work at all.
I do not blame the computers bluetooth since all my other devices work fine. -
My first mouse was a second-hand Deathadder (1800 DPI) and after a year of use and a ketchup spillage that stayed on for a whole night (didn't see my sandwich leaked on my mouse lmao) the top rubber coating started to peel. RMA'd it, took a picture with the cable cut off (RMA procedure I guess), and got a refurb. in a week.
This is my 2nd Razer product, and while their products are overpriced (I mean, show me one accessory manufacturer that doesn't have overpriced "high-end" gimmicky items), when some of them go on sale they're pretty damn good.
Now I wanted to buy the Das Ultimate, but for $135 + extra shipping to Canada, it just wasn't worth it to me.
You just need to ask yourself this, is the red backlight + DA2 design worth another X amount of dollars over the original model/different keyboard?
At the end of the day, reviews don't really matter. They can only give you so much information and insight into a product, as what is good to that person might not be so good to you.
TL;DR
Do what makes you and your wallet happy!
