So I recently bought a Razer Carcharias headset. The audio quality is fantastic...but the mic is just too quiet. I've gone into the realtek control panel and boosted the mic volumes and nothing seems to help. the only time it really picks up anything is when the mic is practically inside my mouth. Tried googling the issue and it seems to be something having to do with the realtek software...

    Can somebody please help...

Try maxing out the mic volume and enabling mic boost in the Windows recording device settings, not the Realtek driver software. I have the same headset and it sounds just fine at 100 volume with the first level of boost.

A good mic wont need a boost, it inherently destroys audio quality.

If you feel it is your realtek sound then get a cheap external use audio adapter.

I have one for $5.00 that worked a lot better than my onboard realtek for volume/quality of microphone.

You could have a defective product (I have had multiple fail razer products that were defective on arrival) or you could have a bad audio jack. The adapter is a cheap way to test.

True, you can't rule out product failure. Of all the Razer gear I've owned, my Carcharias was the only one that ever gave me trouble, and it was the mic that stopped working. I got it replaced quickly under warranty, though, and it's been working fine since then.
