I'm looking for a nice gaming mouse for my Desktop, and I've narrowed it down to these two mice. I have a razer orochi as well, so I want to stick with Razer. I've heard the Imperator has a z-axis problem when you lift it up and put it down.
Also price is also important, otherwise I would've gone with the Mamba. I prefer the palm grip for my desktop mouse. Generally, for gaming I'll be playing SC2 and just random stuff.
At first the Deathadder seemed more attractive to me, since its basic, ergonomic, and at a good price. Though I know the tech is a bit behind in the deathadder when compared with the imperator. Though on my Orochi I've never really gone beyond 3000 dpi. Any help would be appreciated!

I have the 3,500 DPI optical DeathAdder and the Mamba, which uses the same 5,600 DPI laser as the Imperator. The DA is a fantastic mouse, especially for the palm grip. It's extremely comfortable and button placement is the best I've ever seen in a mouse.
As for the sensor, 3,500 DPI is more than enough for all practical purposes. Also, optical sensors tend to be slightly less picky about what surfaces you use them on than lasers, although I have an eXactMat, which is more than good enough for either.
Like I said, I can't say anything for or against the Imperator, since I've never had one, but I can vouch for the DeathAdder being one of the best mice I've ever used. -
Thanks for the tip. You make a good point, I'm leaning towards the deathadder for those reasons.

I have the Imperator and I don't like it; it feels cheap to me. Additionally, the click feel is too shallow -- not enough feedback.
I have used the Deathadder and find that to be a more solid mouse for gaming and general use. It feels better in the hand. -
While you listed two Razer gaming mice for as your choices, I'd encourage you to check out the Logitech G9x or the G700. You might be suprised by what you find (and what they offer over the Razer products).

Death adder is the best mouse for palm-grip gamers. Bar none.

Death adder has a better feedbacks than Imperator. I used to read review on those mice and thinking which should I buy. But I end up on buying Mamba. About your question, Death adder is still better than Imperator (votes/reviews). I really can't tell which one is better because I don't have it. But for the price you can still get Death-Adder.

"Not exactly, as the saying goes “Try not to fix what’s not spoiled”."
I tend to agree with him the DA has gained a good rep, proven itself and is still a favorite for many users -
Thanks for all the help guys!
@Garetjax Logitech has some great mice, and the ones you gave are really good, but also near/above the $100 mark in Canada. The Deathadder in Canada is about 50 bucks, which I can deal with, but still good enough for gaming.
In the end, I think I'm just going to go with the Deathadder, it seems most people support that mouse over the Imperator. -
I have the Deathadder 3500dpi
Superb mouse!
It is good for bigger hands due to the palm grip.geko95gek likes this.
