Just thought id post about my pure delight at these 3 products for anyone thinking about buying them or searching about them in the future form the prespective of a 1st timer to these exciting new products, rather than a review from a proffessional ,this is my expirience and i hope you enjoy the read and some people find it of use somewhen !!! also add your thoughts and expiriences with these if you want too !! ....

The route i took and why .... After getting my new laptop a few weeks before christmas and having vista too, ive been busy getting and playing new games ive been waiting to play, and also buying lots of new stuff like tv cards, 500gig exeternal hard drives and generaly upgrading everything !

Then i got to the mouse and keyboard, i like wireless as im sat on a sofa at home with laptop on a coffee table height desk type thing, under a big hdtv on the wall, so i can sit with my feet up playing games in maximum comfort, i use a xbox 360 pad for football games etc and have been using a bluetooth keyboard and mouse for the last year or 2 but it old now and didnt work too great with vista and had a 20 second delay to kick in when wasnt used for a while

so a couple of weeks ago i bought a microsoft wireless desktop 6000v2 for £49.99 reduced from £79.99, looked and felt nice, but the performance was dreadful ,keyboard would stop working every now n then, leading to me uninstalling and wanting to smash it, and messing about to make it work again, and the scroll on the mouse was awful like you woouldnt believe, it would hardly work

so that went back, and i tried logitech easy call desktop for £39.99 (its £70.00 on play, com) as it has the skype speaker that looked good and a mx600 mouse, but the keyboard was awful

both lazer mice felt a bit ropey on games, so i then did a lot of searching and found razer products, i searched and read a hell of a lot on various forums and everywhere, and i decided to go wired as wireless isnt best for gaming and to really get something that would last and i really loved !!

i went out today after already knowing the keyboard i was to get, and the mat, and spent £105 on a logitech g15 (mk2 new version) ,a razer diamondback 3g mouse with frost blue led`s , and the razer exactmat !

and WOOOOOOOOOW !!! a totaly mind blowing expirience !!!!

    Intitial thoughts review ....

The logitech g15 mk 2 - Quite simply the best keyboard ive ever used, the keys are soft and smooth and feel great and perfectly sized, the way the keyboard lights up is fantastic and along with the lcd screen displaying the time and date, a stopwatch, the cpu and ram usage , its just pure brilliance ,it looks and feels like a bit like something from an aeroplane ****pit, i love it :D , i installed the latest drivers and software and it automaticly scanned my games and found profiles for battlefield 2, cod 4, crysis etc , after this post im going to have a look on the g1g forums and modding site, and se what custom stuff i can download for this baby and lcd !!

The razer exactmat - its big,its weighty, it feels and looks awsome, the best mouse matt around from what i gather !! it rests perfectly on the right arm of my sofa , i had an aluminium mouse matt before but this is a different league , the smooth side for gaming is super slick, the teflon things on the bottom of the mouse just make it feel like, well something ive never come across from a mouse and mouse matt ever before, its just sublime !! 1 side for super slick gaming, and the other side for control for photoshop and stuff like that, you can feel the difference too !!

The razer diamondback 3G - WOW , from the moment i felt it i knew this mouse was for me, it fits my hand superbly (i tried other gaming mice in the shop too) the packaging was superb, the certificate of authenticity and driver disc etc were all very nicely done and made the whole expirience of my 1st razer product and immensly enjoyable one , on the box it says "youl never go back" thats 100% correct , i checked out microsoft/razer habu, sidewinder, a few logitechs and razers, but i fell for the diamondback, and it had the latest 3g infared sensor as opposed to optical or lazer, and it was a mid range price too, more than half the price of some that were £70 odd !!

so i plugged it in as instructed before running the disc, and put it on its new home on the exactmat , and took it in my hand like a lady by the hand to the dancefloor, and WOW it felt incredible , id been using a so called precise lazer logitech mouse for the alst few days but from that 1st glide over the exact matt witht he diamondback 3g i entered another world

please belive me - if your a bit of a pc gamer like me, but never bothered to push the boat out and get a razer mouse and spend that sort of money (£32 the mouse and £19 the matt) ,then do yourself a favour and go out and buy one, youl kick yourself that youve never done it before

the smoothness of the glide, the way it lights up , and the way it feels in the hand, makes it a brilliant expirience, then the pressing of the hyper response buttons is incredibly fast , it feels amazing !! You can make sweeping movements and it moves brilliantly, but the small slight movements and precision is just incredible...the diffference between just shooting someone in the heat of battle, and making the killer headshot ,this mouse and mouse matt is just incredible !!!!

both the keyboard and mouse has its own software for fully customising everything, il add my review on that somehwen soon after having a go on it all, and i will also add my expiriences of them after playing a load of games

that was my road to getting these new products and initial reviews ,i just couldnt contain my excitment, plus i also wanted to give the kayboard a good test on tryping , and as i type these very word son it now i must say it has performed admirably and feels fantasic !!!

logitech and razer - i salute you and look forward to many, many hours of gaming with my new set up , good money very very well spent !!

    peace out !!! :)

I have a Razer lachesis and I love it. I'd been looking at purchasing an Exactmat for it so I was glad to read that it's worth the price!

go and buy it man you wont regret it !! ive been testing the diamondback on a normal plain cloth covered type mouse mat, and also an aluminium allsop mousemat which was about £15 but its quite old now, and the exactmat is leagues above them , i couldnt recomend it enough !!

i saw your lachesis mouse today and held it, real nice too !!!

razer rock and il never go back !!!

Congrats on switching over to Razer! I recently purchased the Razer Deathadder and love it. My brother has the Lachesis and he loves it too. I am thinking about the exactmat but I already have a kickass Alienware mousepad so I may keep that. :) Happy gaming!

thanks man, happy gaming indeed :)

ive been playing cod 4 and fiddling with the sensitivity and the mouse is just fantastic, why on earth i never got a razer before is beyond me but im now on the train !!!

i found this earlier, just a little test you can do and change the sensitivity to see how you go

1 thing i have noticed and wasnt expecting, in the razor software where you can cusomise the buttons, it just has a list on each button, but just the same ones and nothing where you can program a button to perform any windows function you want ? i was thinking it would be able to be mapped in to anything i wanted, ie like magnify or zoom and the 3d flip thing to scroll through the windows

can that be done via the razor software or windows somwhere ?

nearest i have come so far is the xmouse programme that works ok but has to be open for it to work, surely theres another way to get the mouse buttons to perform anything i want ?

Have you seen the Razer Destructor? I might wait and see how this looks when it comes out:

The only downside that I can see is a lack of a wrist rest. The rest on your Exactmat seems pretty comfortable.

I'm using the Razer Lachesis with a small Qpad since the pad is soft and very portable. :)

I am considering a Razer mouse pad since they seems nice. :)

Mmm...would you mind posting some pictures of your DB3G from the side view, with the lights up? Cause I've got one too, but I was honestly very dispointed with the lighting up of it; very very dim and barely noticable. :(

il take some for you and post them

i didnt buy it for the lights tho and neither should you lol, the scroll wheel light up very very bright, the side isnt supposed to be as bright and like a light as such looking at the design ?

the DPI of Lachesis is Sooo high that u can do with a 1 inch Mousepad ....Lol..

Well to be serious & precise u can do with an average Rubber-based mousepad coz DPI is extremely high..

Well, design's pretty important to me, and for that reason I'd never ever buy Logitech mice. Honestly though, I was expecting my DB3G to light up as stunningly as shown in pictures on the Razer website, or on the box, but it's just so...uggh. It's not even near the brightness of the Copperhead :(

I got the G15 about a month ago and absolutely love it. The keystrokes are smooth and quiet and the arm rest does its job. The backlight and LCD are really big positives and the LCD can even coordinate with your default music player to display what song you're playing and time elapsed. Not only is it a really nice piece for gaming, but I've had to write a few papers and lab reports with it and have found it to be a pleasant surprise for those as well.

after a few days use now in both general use and lots of gaming, im very glad i got the g15 and love it !

when i play battlefield and stuff it says what server, my ping, and all map/game details, fraps works on it also always showing frame rates, ram and cpu use, and lots of other stuff, the lights are absoloutly brilliant too, it looks and works brilliantly

also love the macro g keys, not used them much in games yet but found its useful for say recording your email address on one so whenever you have to put your email addy anywhere you just press 1 key, very handy ,and i have the feeling the more i use the kayboard the more il love it

I also have a Diamondback 3g and yeah it's amazing. I have the green one and I'd say the lighting is just right. My friend has the blue diamondback 3g and it's a lot dimmer than mine. The copperhead was too bright for me

the diamondback is nice. but it can't compete with the microsoft sidewinder in extended use.

the pretty colours are nice, but thats not the only thing i get a mouse for.
