I was in the market for a new mouse and my friend is trying to convince me that the razer is the best for under $100 usd but I've also been looking up the g700 which looks pretty good and it offers similar to the old non 4g mamaba for alot less, which do you guys reccomend?

ps. mostly play fps and rts

I'd skip the Imperator. Razer makes some good mice, but the Imperator is not one of their better models. Between those two I'd get the G700.

If I were you, I'd look into the DeathAdder if you don't mind wired mice. That's pretty much Razer's best mouse other than the new Mamba, which is out of your $100 budget. The DA is right-handed and has 5 buttons like the Imperator, but has better build quality and pretty much the best optical sensor ever made.

If you aloow wired...then Deathadder is one of the best out there. It's like the workhorse model of gaming mice.

Yeah, the Imperator and Mamba both use the new 4G dual sensor. I haven't used either or read much about them, but one of the things they're marketing with this new sensor is the ability to adjust Z-axis sensitivity yourself.

That said, I've never noticed a real Z-axis problem with my last-gen Mamba. I use the latest driver and firmware, if that makes any difference.

I would think the imperator would be a solid mouse if the 4G sensor is the real deal. I quite like the shape of it and it allows proper on-the-fly dpi switching with the 2 buttons in the middle of the mouse. Too bad early reviews of the 4G sensor isnt good, i was gonna pull the trigger on the Mamba 4G.

You do that, and you're going to end up paying a restocking fee plus return shipping to send back the one you don't like.
