G'day,
I'm interested in setting up my laptop to use as a desktop - ya know, buying a dock/LCD/KB/Mouse etc etc. And wondering about which Razer Keyboard and Mouse you would recommend?
I've looked at the Razer Orochi Bluetooth Mouse and the Razer Lycosa Keyboard. Are these good? Any suggestions would be great!
Cheers.

quality is similar between them. especially with the mice go to your local shop and try out a bunch. keyboards are a bit different. Although you may prefer a different stroke length, layout, shape so its definately up to you. If your lookign at highend gaming you have several options but mostly its about picking what is comfortable as quality is usualyl similar.
I personally use a microsoft sidewinder mouse and a logitech G15 keyboard, so there is no need to stick with one brand. -

I have come to respect Razer's product line over the years but I do not like their keyboards at all. They have a very odd feel that, to me, is not remotely enjoyable to use.
I wouldn't recommend the Orochi for desk use, it is rather small. Try a Deathadder, Lachesis, or the new Imperator (the last two are expensive). For the keyboard, a Logitech G-series is a decent choice. Keep in mind it is very big - write down the dimensions of all the gear you plan to buy and make sure it fits on your desk. -
The DeathAdder refresh (the 3,500 DPI model) is the perfect desktop mouse, if you ask me. Of course, if you can afford two of them, you might want to consider the Mamba.
The Orochi is an excellent mouse, but it's really optimized for mobile use, hence the Bluetooth, 3-foot cable, very compact size and carrying case.
I like the Lycosa keyboard as well. It has short-travel laptop-style keys, which I like a lot better than the typical desktop keyboards, which have longer travel and (in my opinion) inferior tactile response. This is more about personal preference though.
Darrensmits, what do you mean by "better output"? In terms of specs, Razer hardware is perfectly on par with the best of other brands. Their gaming-grade mice and keyboards all have 1ms response time, which is as low as it gets, and the Mamba even gets this in wireless, which makes it the only wireless mouse to accomplish that. -
Thanks everyone, I forgot to add that the mouse would also be used "out and about" at school, etc etc. That's why I chose the Orochi over the others.

In that case, the Orochi is an excellent choice. In wired mode, it's just as powerful as the full-size Lachesis, with the 4,000 DPI laser and 1ms response. In wired mode it can do up to 2,000, and 8ms response.
