I've just gotten one of these. I believe it's pretty good, responsive and sensitive as other Razer mice. I have some problem with it waking from sleep but that was fixed with a firmware update.

The battery life isn't that great though, so you'd have to charge it often, but because you can use it while you charge it in wired mode, this isn't a big issue.

How short is battery life? 2 hours, 8 hours?

In my opinion you should go with a VX Nano. It's the best mouse I've ever owned. Feels really good and it's cheaper than the Mamba.

Although I don't own one, I think that the Razer Mamba is a very good mouse. :)

My local Best Buy store have them in stock & they do put out one set for "demo" purposes. I've "played" around with it a few times & I like the feel of the mouse & find it comfortable. You may or may not be agree with this. I'll suggest that maybe you'll want to check out your local BB store to see if they have them for sale & check it out yourself too. Good luck. :)

Yeah, I've played with a display model Mamba as well. Physically, it is pretty much completely identical to the DeathAdder, except for the two extra buttons and detachable cable. Extremely comfortable.

MaximumPC recently reviewed the Mamba... it got a 7/10. Their considerations was that the Mamba has horrible battery life and that the power cable is hard to remove and reinstall on the mouse.

    http://www.maximumpc.com/article/reviews/razer_mamba

PC Gamer also reviewed the Mamba. It received a 78%. Their problems with the mouse? Shoddy battery performance, clunky design, and the mouse is unreliable. You can read the review on page 91 in the Novermber 2009 issue. Nice blurb that sums the Mamba up well:

In my opinion, the Mamba is overpriced for the amount of "features" it offers. As an alternative, try the Logitech G9 or G9x. These mice are as every bit as good and competent as the Mamba (especially the G9x) and cost nearly half the price in some cases.

....well i love mine. its perfect, the battery life hasnt really been measured, since after im done everyday i put it back on its cradle. i got mine for 60bucks, from connections. great mouse for everything. again cant comment on battery life but the design ISNT clunky, its perfect for right hand grip. the best ergonomics on a mouse are the mamba/DA (right handers). mouse is reliable, firmware updates happen occasionally. at the start ppl complained of a jitter problem but that is gone by firmware updates, cant think of any other preliminary problems ive had...

Im not surprised the battery life is terrible on this mouse. I dunno about clunky but all the Razer products are ive come across is solidly built.

Razer has been driving me nuts with their support lately though. Basically being ignored or i just get some robot response. I still have that virus in my computer from their spiked drivers.

Battery life doesn't last beyond 2 full days of use, which is much less than what I use to get on the MX1000. However, I love the precision and response of the mouse. It's my first Razer after having tried my friend's DeathAdder, so to me, there is a stark contrast in the tracking performance.

yea exactly ^ its not like its a portable bluetooth mouse. it may be wireless, but its meant to stay on a desk. when not in use, put it on the cradle....thats all you need to do.

If you can control the wireless networks near your computer a Logitech G7 is a good choice. Can be found for much cheaper than the Mamba.

Except the that G7 sucks. I went through 6 of them in a year. It's plagued with issues. A simple google search proves as much. Drop in connection, double click issues, stuttering issues, etc. When it worked it was an amazing mouse.

The Mamba is light years ahead of it. I've been using Razer now for a year, and I will NEVER go back to anything other than Razer. Quality, precision, gaming smoothness, DPI, etc.

    It's an excellent mouse.

I had issues with the G7 until I switched all my wireless to 5.8GHz.
