So my new PC has a Soundblaster X-Fi Titanium card in it. I was wondering if the Carcharias would be a better choice to buy because it doesn't have an internal card like the Megaladon does.

Would purchasing the Megaladon be a waste because of it's internal independent sound card and USB input? Would the Carcharias actually sound better because it would be able to fully utilize my sound card?

    Any input is appreciated.

    Thanks

Thanks for the quick response, I watched the video but it didn't really answer my questions. Though I'm not limiting myself to only the Razer Carcharias or Megaladon it is what I've been leaning towards. What I'm really wondering is if a USB input headset with or without it's own soundcard will offer drawbacks compared to a traditional 3.5mm headset when using an aftermarket soundcard on your PC. I don't want to buy a USB headset with a higher price point than a 3.5mm only to find out that it's sound quality will suffer because it's not utilizing my cards potential.

The Megalodon has its own sound card, and will not be affected by how good or bad your computer's sound card is. The Carcharias plugs into your sound card, so the better it is, the better the Carcharias will sound.

Personally, I'm using the Carcharias on my motherboard's integrated audio and it sounds great. I'm willing to bet you'd be quite happy with your superior sound card.

Okay that's what I was worried about with the Megaladon. Thanks for clearing it up, I'll most likely end up going with the Carcharias.

I have never used any other gaming headset other then the Carcharias which, I actually have on now as im typing :p

They are a very good set of headphones. I can't compare them to any others though. But the sound quality in games is excellent.

For the price you pay the Carcharias pack a great sounding punch.
