I'm thinking about getting a Razer Naga to make browsing the internetz and Photoshopping more efficient, but I have 1 important question:

For those of you who have Razer mice (the Naga to be specific), are you able to bind Windows volume up/down/mute to the mouse buttons, without using 3rd party programs?

I've owned a Razer Diamondback before, but it wasn't able to do it. Then I switched over to Logitech mice, and their Setpoint software allowed you to bind Windows volume controls. But since I'm in the market for a new mouse, I'm just wondering if Razer mice can now do this.

    Answers appreciated!

I have a Razer Mamba and I just checked the configuration for the buttons. You can bind single keys but it doesn't seem like you can bind a volume up and down.

Can you bind a macro to whatever the hotkey is for volume up/down (fn + whatever function key)?

Fn isn't really a recognized Windows key, so I can't imagine you'd be able to bind it.

Doesn't work. You'll need Autohotkey or similar.

Aw shucks... thanks for the response guys.

I guess I'm not getting a Razer then. Windows up and down may not seem like an "important" function, but you'd be surprised at how many times I use it on-the-fly. And I don't feel like using a 3rd party program to set my bindings.

Hopefully Razer will consider putting more Windows functions on the their software's drop-down list in the future.

First apologize if I revive a post dead but I made the effort to register only for comment. :p
I bought today the Razer Mamba 2012 and I discovered the solution for volume control with the mouse buttons: 3RVX recognizes all Mamba's buttons and even simulated macros :D

Don't let something like that bar you from getting a Razer product. Their quality is outstanding and after you go Razer, you don't go back. Writing up some AHK scripts that do what you need will take about ten minutes and then you'll never have to do it again. You can even archive the scripts on some sort of media so you can reinstall windows and still keep the functionality.
