I apologize for making a new thread on this, but I wasn't able to find any other thread dedicated to the Orochi..
Though, would anyone who has this mouse be able to post photos? preferably to also include some with hands resting on to give a sense of size/comfort.
Also, would anyone be able to provide their opinion of the response time in bluetooth mode?
It would be very much appreciated :]
-
I can probably let you know in a week or two; I just ordered my Orochi today.
-
How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking?

Mine arrived this week, it is awesome; so much better than my Microsoft Bluetooth 5000 mouse. I think I paid like $86 for it including shipping.
I am going to write a review of it but not on this site . . . I will post the pictures when I take them. -
That would be veryy appreciated :]
-
Got it myself today as well. I will post my impressions as well as soon as I get my M17x. (which is taking quite a while might I add) I took some pics of the box so far.
Sorry for the pics, used my Iphone. -
haha not to shabby boxing. still nothing is as elegant yet absurd boxing case as the mamba. ive packed it away already and its on my desk being admired as in two days i will receive a copperhead.

So far I have not experienced any issues with Bluetooth. It is extremely responsive and accurate, much more so than the Microsoft Bluetooth 5000 mouse it replaced.
I don't think the batteries are going to last too long on this thing, but we'll see. It takes 2x AA. -
I wish they had a lithium version of the battery
.
So is the mouse responsive enough for gaming?
Thanks! -
Lithium AA batteries do exist, I know Energizer makes them.

Based on the gaming I did yesterday, absolutely. No stuttering, and it is extremely accurate.
To those wondering, it matches the M17x perfectly.

Razer is out of stock, where can I buy today?
-
Great pictures
But would you (or anyone else) be willing to put pictures up with the mouse in hand? to give an idea of size/comfort
or any other type of scaling comparison :] -
i recommend using something we all have like a cd to get the idea of size because peoples hands will differ

How long is the wire of orochi?
-
Charles P. Jefferies Lead Moderator Super Moderator
It's about 40 inches. -
And I heard that it must takes TWO AA batteries rather than one as some logitech wireless mouse in order to reduce the weight. It's quite depressing and annoying. Could you try to replace another battery with conductor( such as metal wire) to see whether it can only use one?
-
Why bother with the weight when you can just use USB and pop out the batteries? Weight isnt an issue unless your gonna game hardcore on BT.
Try it out first, personally i like a mouse with a bit of weight. -
I'm interested to know the answer to this too!

It is not uncommon for wireless notebook mice to use two batteries. How is the use of two batteries 'annoying' and 'depressing'? -
well,i just get used of logitech one battery mouse whose weight fits me mostly, and i don't want to be troubled with putting batteries in and out repeatedly. after all my opinion is based on my personal cases and feelings, so do not get angry please.

Found this video: [Click Me]
..seems a lot smaller than I thought it would be. -

I have my review up but it's not on this site and I can't give the link; if someone wants to PM me I'll give you the link and you can post it.
-
Can anyone comment on the build quality? does it feel like it can last a long time?
-
I've never had a flimsy Razer product. The Orochi feels just as solid as my DeathAdder if you ask me.

Jeez, whats the story with this mouse if it officially out yet?
Amazon still has it on "Item has not been released yet"
I have to get it from there if i am picking it up, thanks in advance guys. -
A couple places in the UK have it listed, but not in stock.
The cheapest I can find it for here is £62.99, which seems a little steep for a mobile mouse. -
It's been released, but Razer is having trouble keeping up with demand. It sold out within days of initial release. They restocked a few weeks ago, and sold out again within the day.
It's not just any mobile mouse. It's got a 4,000 DPI laser sensor, which is up there with some of the highest end gaming mice, and you can connect via Bluetooth or USB cable. -
I've tried many different technologies regarding mouse optics, and nothing has come close to the precision of my Microsoft Bluetrack.
I guess I'll wait until it's available in a high-street store, so I can get a feel for it. -

Hm, ok i see what you are saying. I hope it comes out soon though because i want a mouse and am getting some Amazon gift cards really soon. If it takes to long i think i might go elsewhere(Though im not in a huge hurry)
Thanks for in the info though Shroom. -

Get a Logitech G5. It's proven to be a solid mouse for over five years. You can't go wrong.
-
The Razer Kabuto mousepad is supposedly a good pair with the Orochi, since it's soft enough to roll up and stow, but still has an excellent tracking surface. Plus, it works as a laptop screen protector. I'm thinking of ordering one myself.
You're comparing apples to oranges. The Orochi is a compact Bluetooth mouse made for gaming and easy portability. The G5 is a substantially larger wired gaming mouse meant for relatively stationary use, not to mention with half the DPI of the Orochi.
