i own razer deathadder and diamondback. for some reason, when my mouse is idle, the pointer on screen moves around slowly by itself. this happens on both the deathadder and the diamondback. anyone know why this happens? thanks.

What do you have the sensitivity set at? I've heard that the mouse's sensor can even get moved by sound waves if the mouse it set to a high sensitivity. It could be a driver problem. Try downloading the latest software and firmware updates for both.

i have it at max 10. it's just odd this only happens w/ razer mouse. going to try update drivers.

Look at the mouse pad, my mouse pad was wacky and it used to cause the mouse pointer to move [it confused the optical sensors] even when I wasn't touching the mouse.
-
Not uncommon for me
but I've solved this by using a mousepad.
But if it's a laser mouse.. it's quite bad since weren't they praised for their accuracy on any surface? -
Change mouse pad/surface and clean the Lasers lens
-
DeathAdder and Diamondback are optical, not laser, it's probably the mouspad.

Deathadder is laser (3G Infrared)
-
Deathadder is NOT Laser ... 3G infrared is not Laser... its a newer version of Optical sensors which works on more surfaces without skipping.

This problem is not unique to Razer. I had the same problem with a Logitech MX 518.

EDIT: Nvm i was looking at the Lachesis box not deathadder. It still uses 3G (3rd generation) though.. word. -
Well Sueing Razer will fetch u lot of money.
