Hello,
I really would like to use a mouse as opposed to the touchpad, but there are soooo many choices, Id appreciate some direction. I plan on doing some very light gaming, but more so surfing and music stuff. I'd prefer a wireless mouse, but I'm not opposed to a usb mouse. My price range is roughly 50-60 bucks. Thanks for any tips.

Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 4.0. I have it and love it.

I would HIGHLY recommend the G5. I bought mine a few days ago. In the pas I had used the Logitech MX1000 (100$ at the time) and then when I purchased my note book in September I bought a cheap 50$ microsoft wireless mouse. It was dissapointing could barely track on a table.
The G5 I find the USB cable is very firm and is braided making the unnoticeable. For gaming my kill death ration jumped from 1 kill/death to 2kills/death. And while sniping you have the ability for on the fly dpi control. For surfing the two buttons on the left side are great as back and forth buttons. It tracks great... even on a bed.
May I add it also has a adjustable weight cartridge. And the grip is absolutely amazing!
Price is also cheap. Picked mine up for 39.29$ in Canada (Usually 60$). Just do a shopbot.ca/com search find cheapest price go to a store that you trust and ask them for pricematch
I am actually planning on review this mouse. -
id go for the g7 for you. its like the g5, except only 1 thumb button. but its wireless, so youll have the precision and the freedom youd want. its about 60-70 bucks.

Microsoft BX3-00008 OEM Slate 3 Buttons 1 x Wheel USB RF Wireless Optical Notebook Mouse 3000 - OEM
I have one for my notebook, and also one for my Desktop. These work great so do not be fooled by the low price and remember that newegg's prices are much less than anywhere else. Battery lasts more than 6 months with everday use for my desktop one. Some reviews say it only works up to three feet, that is NOT true. I've tested this at nearly twelve feet and it worked perfect. See the Link I have inserted below.

I have the Logitech LX7, and it's great. Accurate, responsive, and doesn't eat batteries either. Wireless and invisible optical.

I saw a great deal in the for sale forum for a new Razer DeathAdder. It's what I use. It's great!

I use a G7 on a desktop. While it's a great wireless gaming mouse the problem with using it with a laptop is keeping the batteries charged. Personally I think corded mice make better notebook partners.

You don't have to spend 50 dollars. you could just buy something like the intellimouse 4.0 or the 1.1. basically, any of the intellimouses work well. I have actually used a 1.1 for far longer than any mouse I've ever own and it was my purchased with the parts for my first computer. That and a logitech elite. both of which i am using right now.

No offense to the guy selling mice, but if you want a Razer DeathAdder get it from Buy.com
40.99 + free shipping, and likely no sales tax. -
the logitech nano is pretty cool too, the reciever is so small you can put it in your usb port and never have to worry about it. i think its cool for laptops, or maybe like, asus eee pcs

If you're looking for a wireless mouse, the Logitech nano or the VX REvolution are both excellent mice. I have been using a VS revolution for some time now, and I absolutely love it.

Another vote for the Logitch G5.

How about a Razer Lachesis? It's more focused towards gaming, however. Nonetheless, it's ultra precise and looks ultra badass. Personally, I use a Diamondback and couldn't be more satisfied.

WAIT WAIT WAIT, get the LOGITECH VX NANO, its is by far the best mouse, it is laser, and the best part is the the reciever is SOOO tiny that you wont ever break it off and you never need to take it out, its is by far the best, excellent build, and has a cool free scroll, and battery life is Excellent, make sure you check this one out, its is awesome

I personally like the mouse a lot, but it's taking some getting used to. I'm transitioning from a claw grip to like a three quarter's palm grip. A lil frustrating but none the less very comfortable.
Reccomend a mouse. Light gaming, but much more
