    Hi...

The R400 does not have a webcam. I checked on the Lenovo (India) site and they show a webcam on their list of accessories, but it is not compatible with Win 7. I run Win 7 Pro (64-bit) on my machine.

Can you suggest a lightweight (meaning portable) webcam that I can just throw in my bag for the occasional Skype sessions that I will need to be a part of in the immediate future?

Does not have to be something great, just something functional and most importantly, sturdy and compatible with Win 7.

    Thanks

Well, I'm not sure what price range you're looking at, but have you considered the Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000? At $65, it's a bit more on the expensive end; but I've seen very good things about it. Picture quality is excellent, and the design looks like it would accommodate an R400 nicely.I don't have any hands-on experience with it, but my girlfriend just ordered one and it should be here within the next week or so. A quick glance shows that Logitech has windows 7 drivers up for it too.

Edit: Ha, apparently I'm accidentally ambushing your new threads.

Lol! Yeah...well...thanks for the Logitech suggestion. I was reading some reviews of that and despite the Win 7 drivers that you mentioned are available on the site, apparently, some folks seem to have problems with it. But it looks good and I'll check it out. I am also looking at a few options from Microsoft - though their insistence on repeating that their cams are optimized for Messenger etc. does get a bit grating. But the prices do look good.

Actually i just saw this webcam on slickdeals a few days ago where the price ended up going below $40 for a high quality cam...
    Hopefully the deal's still good
