I just bought the Deathadder, and got it in the mail mid-week this week, and I have to say, I love everything about it - the design, the button layout, the shape, the customize-ability and all. But one thing that outweighs all the above is it's size. The Deathadder is way too big for my hand. Can anyone recommend a smaller mouse similar to the Deathadder? Something around 105mm will be comfortable. Smaller is ok, but the Deathadder is 128mm and is way too large.

the deathadder is not for women/children, only m3n can handle that mouse.

You might like the Razer Orochi, coming in at 99mm in length. It packs a 4,000 DPI laser (same as the full-size desktop Lachesis), ambidextrous design with 7 buttons (2 clickers, scroll wheel, two auxiliary buttons on each side, for thumb/pinkie use). It's Razer's first mobile mouse, and it has Bluetooth built in, as well as a detachable 3 foot cord for wired mode.

Mmmm sounds delicious, my computer doesn't have built in Bluetooth tough, so I'd have to go with wired the whole time, or get a Bluetooth adapter.

Bluetooth USB dongles are pretty commonplace. And yeah, using it 100% wired isn't a bad idea. Just keep in mind that the cord is only 3 feet long, as it's meant for laptops.

Razer Lachesis has issues (axis lock, drift) so stay away from it. When it works, it is amazing, but the issues make it not worth the $100 stores want for it.

It gets my vote. Here's some side-by-sides that you might find useful. For the record, the Mamba is physically identical to the DeathAdder.

That's excellent pictures, thank you! Gives me a good idea of how big the orochi is since there aren't any local places that have it.

I would go for the orochi except I just got a deathadder, a copperhead, and a boomslang collector's edition. God I'm addicted.

I actually just ordered it (won it on ebay actually, still NIB and unopened) but when it gets here (I'm assuming next week I'll post a short review with pics comparing the various mice I have (deathadder, 2x copperhead, boomslang)

Fancy. I imagine it must be a pretty good mouse to justify the $100 that Razer wants for it, making it more expensive than any of their other mice except the Mamba. But at the same time, you never really hear about it.

How much you did you end up bidding?

    25.00. :)

An 1800 dpi mouse, with a titanium top, a green glow, and large buttons for 25 bucks? I'm good with it. Same price for the copperhead (blue) lol.

Well you don't need a gaming mouse to play games, and there are certainly good mice that are cheaper. You can get a decent one in the 30 dollar range which is what a decent non-gaming mouse will cost ya too.

But yeah sometimes the prices get a bit unreasonable.

The original 1,000 DPI ball mouse, nice. :p
Hah, 75% off retail, that's fantastic.
Keep in mind that the Boomslang is a collector's edition mouse. The DeathAdder, for instance, is technologically superior in just about every way, with 3,500 DPI, braided fiber cable, 1,000Hz polling/1ms response time, but only costs $60. And as Narthecium points out, it's not like you're required to spend $100 (or any money at all) on a gaming-grade mouse. Sure, it improves some aspects, but by no means is it necessary. Before my first Logitech G9, I was using a generic Microsoft optical mouse in all my gaming.

Yeah I most definitely would NOT have bought it for 100 bucks. But I couldn't resist a metal mouse for 25 dollars...and looking at it I think the size of it will be great for me, I have big hands. I love the copperhead despite it's smaller size though.

It's a spray tint for my car's side markers. They're currently orange and ugly, doesn't go well with the blue/gray theme of my car.

A little late to the party, but I just received my Orochi yesterday and am very impressed with it - using it wirelessly and it is flawless w/ my M17x. Had to drop the pointer speed down some - it is sensitive even using Bluetooth!
