So in many ways, the new Sony Z is probably the most flawed since release of the model range in 2008. However, it's also still the ultimate expression of portable computing. And I would like a sleeve to match, since I'm increasingly travelling very light.

    Functional prerequisites:
    - Matches the Z in profile as much as possible in terms of practicality. Ideally a custom fit, but perhaps also smart to pick a sleeve with some room to vary as models change (but with e.g. a custom internal foam structure)
    - Very low added weight
    - A reasonable but fairly minimal degree of protection - maybe a layer of foam.
    - No strap mount points or anything else that will spoil the lines. Hidden wrist loop or similar system though would be a plus.

    Visual prerequisites:
    - Lets everyone else know that you are carrying the best fricken laptop on this planet in the best fricken sleeve on this planet

Some might mention the Mach 3 case, and having looked at it, I can say I'm really not happy with the way it appears to be made. Any of the subcontractors for my design business could do a significantly better job of the lay-up IMO just to start with. So let's just say I know about that, but it's kind of on my 'maybe if I can't find anything else' list.

Budget? When I say 'recommend me the best' I'd like to think that you wouldn't assume me to have a lengthy discourse and suddenly say 'and oh by the way, I don't want to spend more than $50'. No, I mean recommend me the best. Anyone however recommending gold or Swarovski-encrusted items will be shot.

    So, what say you?

So why not get a custom made leather or similar case then especially if cost is not the concern - unless 'labels' and 'brands are more important.... as I would think a skilled leatherworker with a decent reputation and sense of style would be able to work with you so you got exactly what you wanted...

Since you seem to be rather particular about the brands and type of requirements you are after :p

I'm quite baffled by all of your notebooks..
If you don't mind me asking, why so many?

I am baffled by why he would buy so many 'Crapbooks'.

OS X usage. No other reason, nor merit, in purchase.

Also at previous question, first of all because I can (and I have at least one of each), and regardless of other reasons that's all you really need to know. Back on point please, thanks.
