I've been using the Logitech LX710 wireless USB keyboard for about a month and have had to replace the batteries twice. Maybe use the keyboard 8-10 hours a week. Not heavy use at all.

Can anyone recommend a decent, lightweight keyboard that gets decent battery life?
Generally, I prefer Logitech because of the customizable keys. I don't need anything fancy (no LCD displays or media controls). I've done some research and checked around the forums and didn't see much info on wireless keyboards and battery life.
I don't like the diNovo (or the black key keyboard) but would appreciate any feedback on your experience with a decent wireless keyboard with good battery life.
Thanks for your help.

That's strange! I have an earlier version of logitech's wireless set along with the laser mx1000 and I need replace the batteries every 5-6 months with moderate typing and gameplay. I didn't like the dinovo series as well. But have found Logitech's product and support superior to msft's and kensington's.

Thats really weird that you had to change the batteries twice in a month. Have you tried to contact Logitech about this problem?
Alternatives include the Logitech MX3200, which I've used in the past. Its a very good keyboard, very comfortable to type on, and the batteries last a while. -
Thank you all for your thoughts and suggestions.
I went ahead an got an MX3200 and already like it better for a couple of reasons:
1. Slightly heavier than the LX710, so it sets better on my lap.
2. No buttons on the edge of the board. I was always pressing the music or photo shortchut buttons on the LX710 when I went to grab it. Very annoying. Tried to turn them off several times. But they'd reset on a reboot.
Now, if the battery life is good, I'll be happy.
Regarding Logitech, I didn't contact their CS. This is the first Logitech product I've ever had a problem with. (I have a Trackball marble at work that's going on 10 years old and works great.) I will contact them and see what they have to say. At least if other folks are having similar battery life problems, it will add to the knowledgebase for it.
I have a couple of Logitech mice (which get heavy use) and haven't had to change the batteries in nearly a year. Ditto my MS wireless keyboard for the desktop. Don't think I've changed those batteries in over a year.
When the first set of batteries gave out in the LX710 keyboard, I bought new ones just to be sure. So, I think there is some power issue with my keyboard. -
Great! Post your experiences with the MX3200. Hopefully, you wont experience any power/battery issues.

The MS Wireless Desktop 1000 is reliable and cheap, at only around £1000. Ive used it. The battery life is nothing to worry about, and the mouse is excellent.
