    Hi all,

I have just got my first laptop and I am looking to get a sleeve for it as I want to take it to and from University inside a messenger type bag I have (not for laptops just a normal Eastpack bag).

I was just wondering if there was any brand of laptop sleeves you guys would recommend? I have had a look around on the internet but have not come across much.

I want as much protection for my laptop as possible but don’t want a dedicated carry case for it as it screams “I have a nice laptop here” and also because I would rather be able to carry it with my text books etc all in one bag.

    Thanks for any help

Try Shinza's ZeroShock cases. They come in different sizes and offer pretty neat protection with that shock absorbent material.

    Hi,

Yeah I have had a look at the Shinza case, problem is they aren't readily available in the UK (probably should of mentioned my location earlier)

What does everyone think of zips on these sleeve cases? Do they not scratch up the laptop? I noticed the CasePC sleeve makes a point of not using zips.

Also my system is part of the HP DV2000 series, just thought I would state this in case there are any sleeves which are a perfect fit for the model.

    Thanks again.

I've got a Zero Shock III sleeve for my ThinkPad X61 as well as Booq Vyper XXS. For protection purposes I would however recommend the Zero Shock sleeve. You can find other sleeves being more protective than the Zero Shock but they usually weigh much more. The Booq sleeve looks very stylish but does not protect as well as the Zero Shock sleeve.

I suggest you search google.co.uk for Elecom or Zero Shock. You can definitely find shops selling Zero Shock products.

Also please note that Shinza is NOT the manufacturer of Zero Shock products. They are just an agent/shop/importer. So when they sometimes say (on their website) that they themselves are developing new Zero Shock products it is not true. I would stay away from them for that reason alone.

Elecom is the manufacturer of Zero Shock products: www.elecom.co.jp/ or www.elecom.eu.com/ (not so comprehensive website)

Last but not least you should at least read the very comprehensive sticky about bag/sleeve makers under the accessories board.

I have a 14.1" notebook too, I just looked up 'laptop sleeve' on eBay and bought one of them there. I've been using one for nearly a year now and haven't had any problems with it. It does its job well.

Incase!!! I have used several Incase products with both PC and Mac. Just go to their site and check the stuff out. Any of their sleeves would probably work with a PC laptop. I am currently lugging around my 17" MBP in their new 17" Nylon Sleeve Plus. I really like the look, quality, and feel of the materials they use and the finishing is AWESOME.

Any suggestions for a sleeve that fits the Dell Inspiron 1720? I've come across some reviews that are saying sleeves that are advertised to fit are actually too small. Any thoughts?
