Well my headphone jack broke around a month ago so i bought an USB soundcard dongle that seems to work pretty well for the most part. But i would much rather use the soundcard that is built in my laptop and possibly use my new gadget just as a headphone jack. I have read in certain places that this was possible using certain programs or w/e, i was unsuccessful trying these methods and i was wondering if anyone could toss up some ideas! thanks in advanced everybody.

my new item (usb soundcard): http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.22475

    OS: windows 7

some guy said i could "use ASIO4ALL software for wirtual re-wiring inputs and outputs." failed in doing so :(

and the i also came across http://joey.kitenet.net/blog/entry/random_tip_redirecting_alsa_to_usb_sound_card/ in google.... but alsa seems to be for linux

I don't quite understand the question.

You've gone to Playback Devices, selected the USB soundcard as the Default Device and it's not worked?
