    What would be the best remote control for my G1?
    Which external hard drive would be best for me?( i need it to be 7200rpm, USB + Firewire and 165$ not more).
    Is Firewire worth extra spending, i mean the speed on it much better then USB 2.O

    hi there,

    from my personal experience the best remote control for (bluetooth-enabled) notebook would be... Sony Ericsson mobile phone; many of recent models include possibility to control PC via bluetooth; there are three presets - desktop, presentation and media player, but you can easily create new ones and assign key bindings to keys on the phone; that way you can make an applets to create virtually any software you have on your PC; furthermore, you can control mouse cursor with joystick; it works like a charm with my K800i (as well as backup K750i) and Asus A6Jm;

    as for external hard drive - i won't give any exact recommendations; go to your local reseller or online shop and choose hard drive enclosure that suits your taste (i went for this one: http://tinyurl.com/2aoc7h); when choosing hard drive stick to Hitachi or Seagate and simply go for one that matches your budget and needs;

    i wasn't able to see myself what's the exact difference between USB2.0 and FireWire (i couldn't get FireWire running on Windows2k3) but i guess it wouldn't hurt to spend a little more for FireWire-enabled enclosure; even if it won't be significantly faster than USB2.0 it will less affect your CPU usage;

    hope that helps

    As far as external HDs go, I would recommend Seagate, Western Digital or Maxtor.

    FireWire is faster than USB 2.0, imho.
