Last year I had to bring back in a monitor audio switcher I used to use, but since I've hugely simplified my setup at home since this year I really don't need the overkill of the Centro.

I'm looking to replace it with a simple regular stereo audio switch, albeit with wireless remote control (RF or IR, RF preferred) capability.

It needs 4 sets of inputs and one output.

    Any suggestions?

Yeah - functionally speaking that's what I'd be looking for, only of course I don't need video. The product itself seems to be out of the question however.

Its just a switch, you do not have to use the video, and you could even use it for something else like say your microphone.

Simply put, its labeled as the video port based on the composite standards of R,W,Y 3 wire setups, but all 3 jacks are the same and interchangeable just dont get your input/output mixed up if you dont follow the color code.

Yes I'm aware of that. I'm just saying I don't need video.

And from the user reviews for the switch, as I said, the product in particular seems to be undesirable. $4,500 soundcard -> switch with buzz -> $1,000 monitors = bad idea. I'll defo pay more for noiseless switching, although there isn't a need to go super-BS-audiophile.

I've spotted a 3-way switch with IR remote control with seemingly decent quality for about US$150... which isn't, as you can probably appreciate, exactly what I want. I'd like to stuff the switch somewhere out of the way so line-of-sight remote control is not desirable. And I guess I could live with 3 inputs, but I'd really like 4.

Best for your money is probably this: For only $18.43 each when QTY 50+ purchased - 4 Port Component Video Switch w/ IR Learning | Component Video Switches

Even better is after you teach it your remote commands you can use your existing remote with it and not have to have an additional remote about getting in the way.

Going from my experience with monoprice, all of there stuff is of great quality and usually 1/2 to 1/3 the price of similar products from other stores/manufactures for the same quality (Or better)

I get all my cables there, wire, I have gotten a DB25 switch, also other odds and ends like my HDTV wall mount, and my USB VGA adapter I use at work to have dual monitors.

Hmmmm... That does appear to be a stonking bargain (without shipping to the UK at least). I'll consider it. Any other suggestions would be welcomed.
