Do any other laptop manufacturers besides HP make a remote control for their laptops?

I'm looking for a new laptop to replace my HP dv1175 which came with a remote control that I use quite a bit for music, movies, Powerpoints, etc.

    Thanks

Dell offers a Bluetooth ExpressCard remote and some Alienware laptops come with infrared receiver and remote like HP.

    hi,

I have a bluetooth remote from Interlink Electronics model VP6600R and it seems to work quite nice, battery lasts very long. I would highly recommend it. Best feature is you can hide/charge it in the expresscard slot but it sticks out just a little bit.

Thanks for the info. I'll take a look at the Dell and Alienware. I like how with the HP you can also print with the remote.

My sony ericsson k750 cell phone can control my laptop through bluetooth. Controlling video/music player, powerpoint presentations and even moving the mouse pointer around the screen.

I'm sure many other bluetooth cell phones have these features as well.

I know media centre like program like media portal can be configured to use hardware from different manufacturers.

e.g. It would use my winTV nova T remote so i could control other things like dvd through media portal, as well as tv.

It's big and bulky, but it works great :D
