My iPod's HDD got broken (along with the display) and since then I've been hitting the Internet hard to find a 30 GB Hard-Disk that would fit...
But is ATA-100 the right connection-interface (ebay seller claims that you can use it in an iPod) although I read ATA-5 is the right one or is it the same?
I only found 20GB, 40GB or 60GB HDD; where are the 30GB?
thx in advance

Me's think you're better off buying a new MP3 player.

Funny I thought that too -> bought a iPod 60GB on ebay for 160€

I think you can get convertors that convert CF cards to the format that iPod vidoes take (Because CF cards are just ATA devices) For just a few dollars and put a stndard CF card in there and hey presto.. a flash based iPod Video

wait a second... if u a buy a new HD... what about the iPod firmware? what about the interface? all that is on the HD rite?
So buy a new player... try out iPod 80 GB or go for other brands. -

actually nocturnal, once the new hardrive has been installed you plug thee ipod in the computer and itunes sees it as an ipod with corrupt firmware and reflashes all the neccessary files onto the hardrive, the ipod will then work again.

I've seen plenty of the 30gigs state-side via Ebay. Not sure what is available in Austria. Price is normally about $30-40 US on Ebay.
