I have just purchases an Asus Eeee 1000HE. I have the old external Sony CD/DVD player used with an old Toshiba laptop. The old external CD/DVD plugged into the old machine through a 16- bit PC Card.

Does anyone know of a connector/adapter that will allow me to plug the old CD/DVD into "something" that will allow me to plug into my new computer's USB port? I am not planning on using the CD/DVD player for other than backups, but it is a decent player.

    Thanks in advance.

The cd/dvd player is a Sony CRX85A/A1. (8x,24x,8x) All the connectors I have found assume you want to add a USB port to an old laptop with a PC Card slot, not the other way around.

    Thanks
