I was really disappointed with the u3's performance after positioning it right under the vent of my laptop. Then I realized that bottom vent was blowing hot air out and the cooler was blowing air in which in essence trapped the heat. Is there any way to reverse the airflow for the Cooler Master U3?

You could disconnect and reverse the wires.

I'm pretty sure that coolermaster has placed reverse polarity protection

Most fans do have reverse polarity protection. But you can always unscrew the fan, flip it around, then screw it back down.

Unclip the fans from the housings and flip them over, clip them back in and mount.

What laptop exhausts out the bottom though? On a desk that might as well not be an exhaust at all.
