I purchased this backpack to carry my new Dell 9300. The computer fits perfectly (i.e., no room to spare) into the separate, nicely padded, laptop compartment which has its own zippered opening (so you don't have to open the top flap of the backpack to get at it). The material on this backpack is very nice and seems really durable. The buckles are plastic, not metal, but they seem to be pretty strong too (over time the buckles might be the one potential weak point on this bag but I don't know for sure). I got the (dark) Loden green version and it looks nice. The backpack has both a single shoulder strap and dual backpack straps (which are hidden in their own storage compartment). The straps are all very well padded. There is a single middle storage area along with two side pockets and a front pocket with several sections for storing different things. While this backpack is fairly large because of it's good height and width the depth is not that excessive (which might be a good or bad thing depending upon how much stuff you have to haul around). The depth of the internal compartment is about the size of two thick textbooks (if you stack them you can easily get four of them in there with room to spare for some paperback books and stuff). The front compartment also has limited depth so you can't cram a lot into it either. In summary, unless you need a super huge bag for hauling your computer, all your text books, and a ton of supplies then this bag should be given a serious look at.
