The batteries finally died on me so I know the battery life of the mouse, that was the last thing I was waiting for to do a little review.

So here you go guys, a quick and dirty Orochi review.

Hope you find it a good watch and useful information.

    Vicious-

Fantastic review. Very nice job, man.

You did a fantastic job creating the review video. Very clear video, clear audio, and a very balanced analysis of the ins-and-outs of the mouse. Anyone considering a Razer Orochi should absolutely watch your video before making a purchase decision.

P.S. Apparently, I can't give you any more +rep becuase I already gave you too much from other threads.

Yep tripod, just a one take after I got off work nothing fancy like a multi-take + edit. Id have a G700 if I did not already have a G7 instead. The G7 is a great mouse, shame they do not make them anymore.

    Bump.

More people should see this review. And you should review more stuff. You do an excellent job at it.

Have to say, excellent review. I have been kicking around the idea of a Bluetooth mouse for a while and this is the best review (in terms of content) I have come across.

Good review, I might consider buying one. How long does it take for the mouse to go into sleep mode?

    about 8-10 seconds id say

it wont happen if your playing a game, but it could happen if you were web surfing and left the mouse still for a while to read. Like I said though with the new firmware the sleep issue is one of the few things that I have no issues with on this mouse. Its almost instantaneous coming out of sleep.

    you're the 2nd person I heard to have 10 seconds sleep-timeout :D
others (including me) experience 2-3 seconds sleep timeout, and were using the latest firmware
and there are also others who claim don't experience it. so I guess up to luck then.

I dont really notice when it kicks in so I have not properly timed it.

Id need like a stop watch and start at 1 second and go up to like 15 seconds and see when it starts to kick in to give you an accurate answer. It just "feels" like it takes about 10 seconds to me.

Razer needs to release a new firmware...I'll just get one when they do. I'm not really sure if the lag time would bother me or not.

then it's still good that you have a longer timeout. even better if not experiencing it.

I know some people will ignore it but I still think that's not a good thing to get used to

Yeah I think its not an option at all if you want bluetooth.

I think it would be neat if they allowed within the firmware a user controlled varible to set the sleep time.

Setting it anywhere from aggressive (like 2 or 3 seconds) to 2 minutes and even a no time out setting.

This I would think should be rather simple to implement and allow users to tailor the mouse more to there own personal tastes.

Im sure no-time out would kill the batteries really fast, but for somebody that only uses the mouse for a couple of hours and cycles rechargeable batteries they may not care.

Likewise for somebody using the mouse only for web surfing and has no qualms with sleep, an aggressive setting like 2 or 3 seconds may really extend there battery life without interfering with normal operations.

I got my Orochi in today, but I bought it used(NBR Market place), and I didn't get a user manual, how do I pair it(Bluetooth) with my laptop?

EDIT: never mind, downloaded the manual from Razer website.

I like it, I have fairly large hands, and I can palm it. There is a slight delay when it wakes up, but not much. Definitely waaaaay better than the Microsoft Bluetooth Mouse 5000 I have.

It's not good for gaming. Too slow.
