Hello guys, I have done some statistics of my Roccat Pyra Wireless mouse regarding on the battery life. Below are the recorded time frame:

    15.15 - 16.26 (1 hour 11 min)
    20.38 - 1.07 (4 hours 29 min)
    9.15 - 14.18 (5 hours 3 min)
Total = 10 hours 43 min of usage

    Recharge period:
    14.18 - 16.48 (2 hours 30 min)

P/S: The usage of the mouse is merely on surfing the internet and it includes standby time.

So, what do you guys think about the battery life of this mouse? I'm kinda concern about it as I personally believe that it is quite short compared to my Logitech V470.

what battery does it use ?

For your information, I have owned this mouse for approximately 1 month and the 1st bad impression for this mouse is the bad battery life. Thus, I plan to do some statistics thing on this mouse and eventually comes out with this result.

This mouse use double AAA "GP Industrial Rechargeable -NiMH" batteries. :)

There's your problem. Rechargeable batteries never last nearly as long as non-rechargeables. Do your tests again with some Duracell or Energizer batteries.

rechargeable batteries is not the problem.
edit: well, not all of them. some rechargeables don't hold charge as long as the other.

I've been using Logitech vx nano with 2x AAA Sanyo Eneloop batteries,
they can last for more than a month.
1x AA Eneloop in Anywhere MX can last for at least 2 weeks.

My usage pattern is always on everyday from 8am - 10/11 pm --average 12-14hrs/day

Even 2xAA eneloop in Orochi lasted 1 week.

    Eneloop's AAA = 800mah, AA = 2000 mah.

Edit: maybe you should try Eneloops or other long-lasting storage rechargeables

that is terrible. either it's the GP batteries or the mouse itself.
we'll have to wait for Jeffrey1987 to confirm that

The next "experiment" I would like to conduct is to try using the non-rechargable batteries such like Duracell or Energizer. Wait & See.

Thanks for doing the tests! Are there any settings that might help reduce the power consumption?

It's a shame a good mouse like this is soo battery hungry.
But no doubt long battery life is the one that is lacking from high-end wireless mice today.

The only downside for me for this mouse is the battery life for sure . . . other than that . . . it's working flawlessly for me . . .

No battery in wireless mouse with 1000Hz polling rate can last long

Apparently G700 has the answer with its polling rate setting :D

You can adjust the polling rate in the Razer Mamba as well.

I've kept it on 1,000Hz since day 1. I first took it off the dock with a full charge mid-afternoon one day, and used it for the rest of that day. I left it unplugged and on overnight, it was still at 3/3 bars of battery the following morning. I used it for most of the day, and by 2:30AM that night it had 1/3 bars, flashing, at which point I put it back on the dock. That was probably around 36 hours total.

For casual use, 500Hz polling is way more than enough,
I bet it can give you more juice for the mouse :)
I'd set 500Hz in casual profile to extend the battery life

Edit: Wow,, your battery life exceeds the Mamba's 14 hours continuous use spec

In terms of gaming, I personally think that it is better as it is equipped with "Easy Shift" tech. As for battery life, I'm not so sure whether it is better than mx anywhere but I do love the Dark Field Tech form Logitech as you can use your mouse wherever you are. :D
