i saw a silicone roll up keyboard at staples today and i bought it because it was only 10 dollars.... does anyone else have one of these things?i am typing on it right now and you have to slam the keys in order to assure they register, do people actually use these things? it is pretty neat though

I highly doubt anyone actually uses them if they are on their computer for more than 10 minutes a day. But I might be wrong.

I used to have one for my desktop. It's more of a novelty than a good useful keyboard; the keys do require a large amount of force to press. It was a glorious day when I put it away for good and bought a new Logitech G15. :p

We use them in the laboratory, for note taking, because they are water/chemical resistant and cheap. I would not want to type a long time on them though. We use better keyboards, in safer areas, for typing up full reports.

theyre good, for use in small spaces or if your lost a few keys on your keyboard. they do however haf an approximated amount of presses they last until they need to be replaced. my friend had one and since theyre soft, its a little tricky to hit the actual "key".

edit: if you want something REALLY COOL which i have used and can say is pretty dam awesome:

How reliable is that? My friend told me that those keyboards have some issues with detecting keypresses :p

Cool example of future tech though

i didnt have any problems with it, your friend probably just needs to adjust the sensitivity.

i have one and i use it when i hook my laptops up to my tv. it lets me just keep my laptop closed and just use my tv. i like it cause its so light weight and portable. i never seem to have a problem with key presses registering. but maybe i just got a good reliable one :) ps mine was $5
