At least an S-Video to Composite adapter will be bundled with your notebook.

AFAIK, S-Video’s maximum resolution is 480i, therefore I don’t think you can transmit true high definition video content over S-Video. You still can have a high resolution, but that won’t make the picture look any sharp; just more content on the screen.

I've seen a few posters on other forums who swore that their local Circuit City carries the adapter cable. If you have one near you, you can give then try.

My 1520 has the 8600m gt. I just looked on Nvidia site and it stated that:

"Integrated HDTV encoder provides analog TV-output (Component/Composite/S-Video) up to 1080i/1080p resolution"

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_8600M_techspecs.html

Is the s-video on a 1520 4, 7, or 9 pin? I might be wrong, but I believe that the 7 and 9 pin can send high def video.

Thats what the card is capable of but it doesnt matter if the manufacturer doesn't use/implement the feature. I don't know much about Dells but if you have to select something or install some software then depending on how Dell uses the signal it might be >480p since it will not really be a s-video signal.
