I don't really see why you would do this...

There's nothing that stopping you from doing this, but to me it does not seem to make a lot of sense?

Could you explain the reason you want to do this? I'm sure there are much better alternatives, but you can do this if you really want to.

No I would not, SDHC are not made for this. The chance to lose your data are very high with this so don't do it mate :)

    I agree.

OP: SDHC and USB flash sticks are not meant to be used for heavy I/O.

SDHC are OK for repeated reading. I wouldn't keep anything valuable on them, unless I also had a 2nd copy of it on a more reliable medium.

Cool!!! That's exactly what I wanted to hear. I won't attempt it then.

Basically, I'm running out of space on my work Lenovo x201i notebook and I have already exhausted all measures of freeing up as much space as possible.

I was trying my hardest to avoid an upgrade because I didn't want to deal with setting up my computer the way i like it...but it looks like that is inevitable (it literally takes a while before I get everything the way it is now). I backup my work every day, but I don't like the idea of external drives because I'm on the move most of the time. These files are going to be large analytical report outputs and raw data collected from several datasources to prepare those reports.

I borrowed my sister's SDHC card, placed it into the slot in my computer and it became corrupted so easily....

Although you said you would not remove...anything could happen should you remove it just once for whatever reason

Yea, do not use it to store important files.

Wouldn't it be possible to replace the HDD in your X201i? From Lenovo's website ( Detailed specifications - ThinkPad X201, X201s), it looks like the X201i accepts standard 9.5mm height 2.5" drives, so you could put up to a 750GB HDD in there to increase internal storage space. And it would be a lot more reliable than a SDHC card to boot.
