Not sure how good this mouse is. But being optical with a retractable cord sure makes it an ideal travelling companion for any notebook whose owner has adverse reactions to trackpads and pencil erasers!

Anybody got any experience with this particular mouse? If so, speak up![ :p]

Cool looking design, but I prefer spending the little extra cash to go wireless. I have the mini Targus and am pretty happy with it.

I hear the Targus eats up batteries like crazy! They're on sale for $20 after rebate somewhere I think.

This is what I have. I got it for when I took my company's laptops out of town on trips.

Sorry, went to link and noticed it has a cord.
I was wondering if a CordLESS mouse can be used on a International flight?

Well, you can't smoke on international flights but you can use a wireless mouse on any flight (domestic, international, interplanet, and so on!) as long as it's not during takeoff or landing because all electronic equipment must be turned off at that time.

    Ok, thank you.
Now, what would you recomend for a wireless mouse??
That is small ... that I can use on my Tecra M2 on International Flights.
fyi: I did Email the Airlines ... and "they" are checking to see if I can use a cordless mouse.
Also need to check on the power at the seat.

Check out the mini-optical mouse from Atek. I got one free when I purchased their wireless remote for PowerPoint presos. It's USB powered, 2 buttons, approx 2 inches long and .75 inch wide. It's small enough to use right on the palm rest of most laptops but has smooth plastic tabs to prevent scratching your laptop finish. The only thing I dislike is they sent me one that has a LED so it's always red (in a clear case) and everytime you move, it lights up. Sometimes, it just attracts unwanted attention. They do make a black one that doesn't light up. You can check them out: http://www.atek.com/mouse.htm

    Looks HOT ... and useful.
But, I was looking for a 2 button Optical mouse with Wheel.
    Wireless. Ultra Mini.

    Hey Hawaii-geek:

Check out Bluetake's BT500. I think it may be what your looking for. It's a Bluetooth laptop mouse. I've read a few reviews about it and they've all been good.

Thank you echoota for your suggestion.
Got me thinking in another direction ... bluetooth which my Tecra M2 has.

What do you think the benifit of using Bluetooth vs Wireless USB?
Most if not all the people I know use wireless usb.
    Is bluetooth better??? why ?

This USB combo of 10-key and mouse combo ... vs a bluetooth version

    Big,

Good point ... I do have bluetooth .. should just go with that and not have to add on something to my usb (just another thing to loose [ :)])

But, in general the usb is cheaper?
for the price of the bluetake mouse ... I could get at compUSA a combo ultra mini Optical mouse and 10-key.

But, the BT500 does look cool ... and all I would have to carry is the mouse! [ :D]
And the on/off switch is a good feature.

LOL, it seems like you go through the same debates with yourself that I do.

I hate clutter, and one of the key requirements for my laptop was to have BT integrated. Hopefully it'll eliminate a lot of the wiring hassle.

Anyway, my dilemma is: I can't decide if I want to go with the BT500 or the Kensington Pocket mouse Pro with the retractable cord. The only thing preventing me from choosing the BT500 is I'm not sure if I'm allowed use it (being a radio device) on an airplane. I don't exactly want to end up face down on the ground courtesy FAA regulations.

To answer some of your questions: They sell the BT500 with and without the USB BT adapter. Since your Tecra has BT built in you only need the mouse itself. Mouse responsiveness, from all the positive reviews I've read, is good enough for most anything, and certainly on par with alternate wireless options. Plus less clutter, ie. no external wireless receivers sticking out of a USB slot, since it's built in. I mean you payed for BT in your Tecra, it should be used, right?[ :D]

BT isn't any better or worse for wireless devices, it's just more standardized. I really hate that it's taken so long to take hold, especially here in the states.

Also check out these prices, they're a little more reasonable:

i use one of these. http://www.provantage.com/buy-7MCRM01K-mobile-wireless-optical-travel-mouse-micro-innovations-mice-trackballs-gamepads-pd910p-shopping.htm

    it's a micro, found it at walmart for $9.99 [ :D]

basically it has a little usb key looking reciever you plug into your usb port. i don't use it much at home, but when im travelling it comes in very handy.
