Looking for people that have used these to tell me information
-how well they worked
-how good the keys are (Loudness on clicking, softness on pushing)
I don't think the brightness is actually more powerful on the E1 than the E2 in these pictures, I think it is just dimmed. But maybe I could be wrong. It also looks like it isn't lighting up in certain spots.

I had the Eclipse 1 in red. Lighting was very bright and uniform. It was bright enough to be readable in low-light, but not so bright as to be distracting.
-
Cool, how were the keys, how well did the E1 work for you?
-
I have the E1 and currently use it with my desktop. The lighting is very efficient and works great. I like the feel of the keys, they have just the right amount of springiness(medium) for me. I also like the zero degree tilt, it feels better on my hands.
-
Alright, that gives me answers for the E1, exactly what i wanted to know too
.
Now Who has an E2? Because you should post here
I guess that is a picture of the E2 on full brightness, It has a 6.0 and not decent reviews on Cnet and the E1 has higher ratings, seems nice.
I've heard somewhere that the illumination makes the keys bad or something on the E1, anyone? -
Whats the technical difference between the two?
-
Well it says the E1 works great, and hise very nice illumination and easy to see. Says the keys work great. The E2 says the illumination is not good at all (as you can see in my picture) and the keys are too soft and close together.
I don't mind softer keys and being close together. But I would like more information on how bright the Backlight is on the E2 still. If this is the case, I will not be paying the extra 10-15$ for an E2, and will probably go with the E1. -
I wonder, do you think there is a way to enhance the lighting in the E2? Make it more powerful so it isnt so dim?
-
You would have to do some hardware modding, which doesn's sound like a reasonable solution. The light probably really isn't that dim. There would be no reason for them to make the second version of the keyboard worse.
-
I actually looked into it further and I think it is a quite less dim model than the previous, I wish I knew someone who had it, Then I would have a personal source, I think it is doing that because they are letting light out the SIDE of the keyboard... just a thought.

If you use the purple on the E2 its pretty bright but the blue and red are definitly not as bright as the previous generation. I linked you a cheap deal on the E1 I would just get that and be happy.
Or the Gamer is still my favorite of all 3. -
According to This Techgage Review of the Saitek II, you can adjust the brightness.

The Eclipse 2 is a nice keyboard. I think it feels very nice to the hands. The keys are soft to the touch and pretty quiet, but they still make a noize. The lights arent as bright as the previous one, purple being the brightest color. Its probably from putting 3 different lighting mechanisms inside it, it doesnt have the same amount of total luminosity I guess.

Eclipse 2 looks like the better choice to me.
