Hi all. Firstly a Happy Holiday greetings. :D

So my dad brought home his LCD HDTV from Singapore (he used if there for more than a year now) as a TV/Computer monitor. When we finally tried to use it here in the Philippines, we had to use an output converter (cables here are coaxial, Singapore's is a different one) but we were surprised to find out that the audio signal can't be detected! We have another Samsung LCD TV, but this works here (also bought from Singapore). Upon closer inspection, we found out that under some sound setting there were Sound signal options for things like DG, BL, I, L, and M. Our HDTV (the one that works) has all of that, and it's currently set up on M. Meanwhile the TV/Monitor has all except M, so that explains why sound doesn't work.

    So here are my questions:
    1) what are these letters for?
    2) Since the SyncMaster's pretty SOL by itself, are there any ways to make it work or something?

I hope for your help, bro's (and sis's) :D thanks everyone.
