I have a Samsung HW-H450 sound bar that works with Bluetooth. I can connect from an Iphone and other mobile phones but when I try to connect to the soundbar from a HP pavilion g6 2221ev laptop it does not connect. The laptop runs Windows 10 64bit. The message I get is try again and make sure the sound bar is traceable.

Try upgrading the wifi and Bluetooth drivers on your notebook to the latest version, also the wifi driver in device manger has some Bluetooth settings as the wifi and Bluetooth are on the same card, an both use 2.4ghz so they can conflict with each other, try tuning the wifi off when the Bluetooth is on, the setting in the wifi driver set how they both work together and can normally be adjusted though some drivers hide virtually all the settings.
At the end of the day, some brands of Bluetooth chipsets can have problems connecting to other brands of Bluetooth devices.
Make a system restore point before changing settings.

Thanks I'll try everything you mentioned.

Good advice and worthwhile to try. Do save the restore point if it does not work out for you.
