I was thinking about buying the Sannheiser HD 555 headphones because they provide fantastic audio quality for their price. The only problem is that they come with 3.5mm jacks. My soundcard jacks on my laptop got bent in the inside so the only way for me to hear audio is through a USB port.

After checking Amazon I found that Sannheiser has a product to convert the cables into USB for 50$. I thought it would be as easy as paying 5 bucks and just getting a regular converter.

Do I need to buy the specific Sanheisser converters that come with drivers built into the USB or can I just buy a regular one and plug it in?

I'm really confused about that stuff thanks!

    link broken ^

After further research I realize that I can't just convert the 3.5mm jacks into USB and plug it in unless I buy a USB soundcard. I am actually upgrading and buying the Sennheiser 595 headphones. These sell on the main website for about 329$ and so have some pretty nice audio quality.

Is there any USB soundcard converter that can handle the audio range of the 595s? I really dont want to buy an expensive headset if I can't hear the full quality of the sound

would that creative usb soundcard be good enough for the 595?
I'd hate to lost audio quality

You can use a 3.5mm to 1/4" adapter with Sennheiser's soundcard
