Personally I use a lint free cloth and water. Try wetting the towel ring it out and use and up and down motion to clean, then thake the dry end and get any excess moisture off of the screen. Every time I have used cleaning solutions made for LCD screens they always leave streaks so I found that just a bit of water works fine.

I use the wet wipes. Just make sure you get the ones that say notebook or lcd screen. And don't press too hard.

IBM recommends a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol (70%) and distilled water. Use microfiber towels for best results!

I agree with LED2112,
Just use a clean towel that has been dampened on one end with clean water and gently wipe and dry. It's really the best way to clean them, also the safest and above all it's very cheap...nothing at all to buy!

I use a 3M product called Microfiber Electronics Cloth. Use it dry or slightly damp, depending on your needs. Best of all . . . It doesn't leave lint on my screen.

I've tried nearly all of your solutions guys, but i find that it alwasys leaves a kind of greesy look.[
] When i whipe it off, it leaves marks the screen. You can't see it when the screen is on, but when its off, they are all over the screen.
Any help would be very appriciated
thanks

tx3,
Welcome to the world of Laptops and LCD screens. You are going to have that as a constant. Use a bit of alcohol and a microfiber wipe...it will take off any oily look.

I used Staples Microfibre cloth with regular water on my HP dv1000 (Briteview screen). I think I might have used too much water. I saw some water marks after. Would anybody what's the impact of this on the screen?

I use a microfiber cloth also...no liquid at all. I had bought the purple Memorex cloth but found some larger ones at my grocery store that were cheaper...and work just as good.

I have to knock on wood because a little over a year later, I haven't scratched my iPaq, any laptops, or my Audiovox XV6600. I was always under the impression that if you use microfiber, a cleaning solution is optional. If I'm not mistaken, this was written on the packaging of the Memorex cloth.

I use Windex and "Bona Swedish Formula MicroPlus Microfiber All Purpose Cleaning Cloth" ($7.99). Works MUCH better than cleaning wipes.

I use something called ... Klear Screen ... alcohol-free, ammonia-free, and anti-static. Works like a charm.
