i just bought a seagate external harddrive, it cames with no software/driver, and when i click on "safely remove device" windows said that the HDD is safe to be remove, but the harddisk is still running (though it does not write) is it same to turn it off now? coz i have another external HDD (maxtor) and when i click safely remoce the device; it turns off. is this how this is with seagate, or is that just the maxtor things?

Oh btw for someone who wants to know how good seagate external harddrive is; it is fairly quite, very little hum, compared to the low drowning noise of the maxtor, though the harddrive tick can easily be heard, compared to the silent maxtor. performance is good as far as i can tell, and when u first turn it on (for the first time ever) there is some chime welcoming you, nice little touch :)
