Im just wondering which i should get. Ive read good reviews on both however im not sure which i should pick.

What is your budget?
-
my budget is up to $75 but im looking at these because ive heard many good reviews on them, but if you have a better suggestion please feel free to offer. theyre gonna be used for music and like i said ive heard good thigns about these. im straying from other companies because ive heard that they up the bass to mask their lack of clarity, and while i like bass id rather have a little bass with good overall clarity and crispness

Where do you plan to use these? With what do you plan to use these? Is there any preference on type/size of headphones? -

20$ sony headphones do a good job

Noise-cancellation is expensive, and probably better to get earphones with good isolation...How about this one?

If you like lean, "quiet" bass, then you may like this as well. Less noise isolation, though.

Exactly to the point!
I was gona recommend the Super.fi 3's I have a pair of them and they sound great
-
^Whereas I use ATK-CK7, although I do intend to get UE forms and try them on my ATH-CK7.
Either way, IMO they both are much better choice than CX300.
-
I dont know what noise isolation is, but i like i said i wnat the best for my money
....to be honest $75 is like a preset; i can go up or down(not up too much)
-

Thats noise-canceling.
Noise isolating is physically blocking out the noise -
well in that case, either one is fine;as long as it significantly reduces outside noises along with good reproduction
-
Sound isolation will give you a better ''bang for the buck''
Super.fi3's have excellent sound isolation
I use them on bus journeys, flights etc all the time and they are great
But you might find the fitting a little awkward to start with.

I'm a fan of the Etymotic ER6i earphones. I got mine from Amazon when they were $70, but it looks like they're a little more expensive now. I personally think they're the best headphones/earphones under $100. The Ultimate Ears someone posted are also really good earphones. I don't think you can go wrong with either. A word of advice, in general it will take a little while to get used to a new set of earphones. At first you may not like the sound, but that's usually because you don't have a good seal. You'll know you have a good seal if they act like ear plugs. When I have my earphones in, they basically suppress sound as good as the ear plugs I got (They're supposed to reduce sound by 32 DB). Also note that the ER6i do not produce completely neutral sound, they elevate the bass ever so slightly. I don't know if the Ultimate Ears do the same. Lastly, be careful with noise canceling headphones! If you walk around with them in, you won't hear much of the surroundings which could be dangerous.
-
ok..so then which are better; the audio-technicas or the super fi's?
-
-
Yup the ER6i's are probably the best earphones <$100
followed by the super.fi3's. I found the bass alittle on the low side to start with, but after about a week of ''burn-in'' period...the bass was noticeably better, still not as much bass as some earphones but very clear sound
EDIT: Yesbut 1st you need to try out different sets of earbuds that they provides you with

Sorry if my first post wasn't that clear, hopefully this helps more.
Getting a good seal is more dependent on the user than the earphones themselves. At first I could only get a good seal with the foam tips, but now I can effectively use the triple ridged tips (Gez that doesn't sound all too right). Like I posted, I think the ER6i is the best under $100, but it's a little over your budget at $87. In my opinion they're worth it and they would be my first choice. I talked about the Ultimate Ears because they're in your budget and you'd probably also be happy with those. Both of the headphones are top quality, but I favor the ER6i. I'm not sure if I've just gotten used to putting them in correctly, but after the burn-in period, the ER6i I have sound even better then when I first got them. So get the ER6i if you can, if you can't the Ultimate Ears are also a good option. btw, I came from a pair of regular old $10 headphones and yes, I can tell the difference between those and my ER6i. You will probably pick up on new things depending on what style of music you listen to.
Do any of you know how I'd go about writing up a review of them? -
A review? You should PM Andrew
-
Can someone tell me why the cx300 are dirt cheap on ebay?
-
Probably fake...
-
I guess we may be able to do a combined review of Super fi3, Er6i and ATH-CK7 here. Of course, it won't be truly comparative (even at Head Fi, everyone has different opinions about ordering of these 3, but they all are often recommended..), but may be helpful for people here.

HD205 sucks. Go for Senn HD555/595, if you don't want it for your MP3 player
CX300 is just good for portable players. -
About subjective elements, well, my ATH-CK7 has tight/responsive sound, with impressive treble, especially for its price. However, amount of bass is limited and it definitely is not "warm" sounding earphones.
Also, its build is very good, but packaging is very sparse (just a small fake leather bag and 3 pairs of tips - big, mid, small).
Senheiser CX300-B vs. HD205
