    Hey everyone :)

I have been searching for quiet some time now, and i dont know if im doing something wrong or the info just isn't there.
My question is: does the Sennheiser HD555 have a detachable cable?

You could replace it with a thicker, better isolated cable.
If you cable would break, you could easily replace it.
    etc...

You can also replace the cable if its not detachable. If you've got a little bit of soldering experience and the right tools it isn't hard to replace a non-detachable cable.

Yeah, but from the sounds of it he wants to upgrade the cable for 'sound quality' weather or not changing the cables will have much of an effect on that varies depending on who you ask.

Aah, this could also come in handy when the cable is broken/you want to replace it for better quality: Link

Just as a heads up, some people have reported improved audio quality after removing the foam pad in the back, that's marketed as a sound reflector.

It is easily found by dissembling and is the large rectangle stuck on the internal rear grill. The pad can be simply be peeled off by hand and can be re-stuck on if necessary. Some people are suggesting this is the main acoustic difference between the HD555 and HD 595 as they have the same drivers.

Sennheiser headphones most parts are user replaceable..so dont worry about cable replacement.

its written on their website also.

unless you are that audiophile who spends more on the cable than the headphone itself.

but then the diminishing returns kick in.

also..i have owned HD555 for few months...their cable is solid strong.
