Ok, So i opened these about a month ago to use with my new Zune. (got a 2nd gen instead of an ipod.... 80 Gig, touch wheel!)
Asymmetrical Cable- Annoying. Some of the cord hangs down on the right ear, but it isn't really in the way of anything. the slack isn't that much that it wil;l get caught on anyhting. Just above chest level.
Cable Length 2.79 ft- Way to f'n short. If i put the zune in my back pocket, the cord is taut enough to pull them out of my ears every once and a while. But it isn't that big of a deal. I think it is nearly perfect length.
The cord DOES NOT TANGLE EASILY. i love this fact. Also, where the earphones split apart from the wire is unadjustable, so you don't have to worry about the rubber splitting the wires apart.
The gummy ear-fittings takes about 10 minutes to get used to the first time you put them in (alot of earphones are like this actually. They obviously won't all fit the same) Anyways, they do their job. I can't even hear the vaccum cleaner in front of me while music is playing on a mid setting. Even when the sound on a mid setting, they are GREAT.
Nice bass, hits every note perfectly. I couldn't ask for more of an earphone at under 20 american dollars.

i have a few pairs of these i kept getting free with dell laptops. they're pretty awesome for the price and make good headphones for the gym since they're pretty disposable. they're also good for traveling too since you won't care if you lose them or if they break. they actually sound ok with a good source.

yeah, i like mine. ALOT.

I have these also....well had
My cat decided to turn into a bat and bite the end off the left earphone!~
(My fault I didn't put them away, and left them out..open invitation).
So, I can easily pick these up from JR's or 6Ave or Amazon when they sell them for around $15-$16 again.
They are great, inexpensive earphones for the price, and worked well with my Sansa Clip MP3!

You could spend a little more and go for wireless ear-buds. That way you never have to worry about the phones breaking.
I've had countless earphones, and i always ended up breaking them because of wires coming loose inside the phone. I had the apple stock ones, those sennheisers, some JVC rubber coated ones (which were actually pretty good and promised to be durable) and they all broke for the same reason. I'm not doing anything stupid with them, just normal day to day use. I got so frustrated with not being able to listen to my music properly or having to juggle about the wires to get the sound right again that i haven't used my Ipod since i broke my new headphones 3 months ago.
I've just come across these digifi / kleer ones which apparently offer excellent sound quality (according to the reviews) without having to shell out $400 for a set of sennheiser ones.
Digifi Opera S2
they retail for 79 Euros, not sure what the US price is. I am getting them. -
Assymetric cable - do you mean a J-cord? That goes behind the neck
Cable length - 2,79 feet - I assume that's 80cm - that's too short?
It would be way too long for me - and how is that too short to ge to your backpack?
With an 80cm cable I can have my Sony MP3 player in my trouser pockets and my IEMs in my ears...and I'm tall (188,5cm)
I'd really be curious how the cable is too short for you.
______________
Sorry to hear about your cat Cin - did you give D. () a verbal (!!) beating for it?
