SetPoint software for MX Revolution screwing up my touchpad?

I have an MX Revolution that I'm using with my 1520. Everything works with the Vista default drivers except the left/right scroll and the thumb wheel, and I can set the pointer speed to a few notches above fast and get great performance from the mouse and touchpad. If I install SetPoint, all of the mouse features work but every time I restart my computer my touchpad settings are restored to default. A medium to slow pointer speed is completely unusable with 1680x1050 resolution. Is there a way to set up SetPoint to not screw up my touchpad, or is there a way to make all of the mouse features work without installing SetPoint?

    TIA!

    Laura

Which version of SetPoint are you using? I used to have the exact same problem, but with the newest drivers, it seems to be ok.

I've been downloading 4.00; is that what you're using?

    Thanks!

I had a similar problem with a VX Revolution on Windows XP, every time you rebooted it would reset the Synaptics driver settings, I ended up just not installing the drivers since the HID drivers worked well enough.

So knowing the respective version of the Synaptics drivers may be relevant here.

    Synaptics driver version is 9.1.18.6.

I could live with not having Setpoint, but it's really irritating having a thumb wheel that does nothing, especially since it's a super convenient way to drive Flip3D when it works.

I'm using SetPoint 4.00.121, and I have the synaptics driver installed, however it wasn't accessible the other day.

I had the same issue...here is my post to another thread on what worked for me to fix this problem.

Also, if by any chance you recently installed the SetPoint software, you might be able to go back to a previous Windows restore point.

It never did work correctly on my 1520, but my G1S was fine out of the box . . . Go figure . . .
