How should I adjust the volume levels on my laptop, Media Player and my external speakers to use minimum battery power?

Should I put the volume of my laptop and Media Player very low and adjust the control on my speakers to how I choose?

    cheers

i don't think speaker setting would effect the battery life, it is completely neglible as it only uses a tiny fraction of the power consumption.

what external speaker did u have? did it connect through USB?

I would have to agree with wobble987. It will not make much difference since sound card power consumption is negligible when compared to other components such as video card and LCD. Just set all sound levels on the sound card around 50-70% and use the speaker volume control to add extra.

I wouldn't sugest taking your volumes above 75% because after that it may begin to distort your music.

Take care when using USB powered speaker solutions. These types of speakers will draw power right out of your laptop through the USB power pin and volume will definitely affect battery life here.
