-absolutley no less than 1920 x 1200 resolution...
-with preferably a 2ms response time... (i can go with 5ms)
-HDMI port in the back... preferably a cable port too haha if not there is always a TV tuner

List ( WUXGA resolution only )from newegg, though I recommend the Samsung TOC T260HD overall. The Dell Ultra-sharp series is another set of high quality monitors that you may wish to look into depending on your budget.
-
Yeah, just go through newegg and narrow it down to WUXGA, 26", 2 ms, etc..

2ms & 5ms are going to be 6bit TN panels, the 8ms stuff can be the nicer 8bit IPS type. There is no ghosting on a 8-12ms monitor if its actually going by spec.
Here is what Dr. Google says: http://www.pchardwarehelp.com/guides/lcd-panel-types.php
I am personally in love with my 37" Westinghouse and it so happens to have been rereleased and on sale! - http://www.buy.com/prod/westinghous...0-16-9-1000-1-silver/q/loc/111/205467075.html

So you are sayin that a 8ms wont give me ghosting effect even with some of the higher end game graphics??? if specs on the computer would help i could easily post
When u get into the larger monitor sizes is it worth it to go to the 6ms for the better resolution? from a gaming perspective that is -

I have the older version of the one I linked and I notice no ghosting even on very fast paced "twitch" games like untreal tournament 2004 and other fps games.
Different people are more suspectable to noticing it though and if your were using a CRT or something that would be a worst case scenario.
I feel that the size makes the game TONS more immersive and thats more important than a tad bit of ghosting any day. A 37" screen about 4ft away like I am takes up nearly if not all your perifial vision so your "in" the game.
Its like the poor mans surround gaming setup (3 monitors) and its compatible with all games unlike surround gaming where you have to hack the living heck out of most games for the right resolution and FOV.
Then its quite a treat to watch movies and have it so easy to read web pages or do photoshop on.
My computer spec is a Q6600 @ 3.7ghz 4gb DDR2 800 ram and 2x ATI 4850's I get about 20,000 points on 3dmark06 for comparison. So its a pretty strong machine.
I could never go back to a regular computer monitor, 24" pfft too small30" maybe I could deal with it but they cost 2x more than what I paid and the native res is so freakin high that even my system would probably have problems maxing out some games.
Its also nice to have all those inputs, I have my Wii hooked up to it, my HTPC hooked to it, and I still have like 3 more inputs open. I can even do PIP and run 2 of them at the same time.
Im totally not a fan of TN panels in the first place, IPS or similar are all I would consider. Just recently they started making 1920x1200 24" TN panels so you have to do your research before buying, that size uses to be exclusively for the better panels.
Here is a little review I did way back in the day: http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10105
I still feel the same about it now almost 2 years later, it was the best piece of hardware I ever got for my PC period. -
Dell UltraSharps. Sweet screens if you've got the money.

I just built a HTPC and I am going to be watching my DTV service via a device called the HAVA ( http://www.myhava.com/) pretty much I can watch the DTV from any computer on the network now and even over the internet.
I got it because it has a virtual tuner for windows media center so we can watch DTV inside WMC and have it streamlined with all the saved movies on the hard drive and now I can use my non DVR DTV box like a DVR.
Im still working the kinks out, I have a lot of Japanese anime and have not found how to see the subs in WMC. -

Comes in perfectly clear on the Westy for me, its basically a 37" HDTV without the tuner to cut the cost. Id never use the tuner so its a gain/gain.
I use DVI for my desktop and HDMI for my HTPC and component for my Wii, and Composite for my PS2 they are all hooked it to it at the same time.
