    Two questions:
Should I buy the Sennheiser CX300 or can I get something better for the same money?

Are in earphones healthy for the ears or is it better to have normal headphones?

    Thanks

in earphones are fine for the ear. Just don't share them with others, unless exchanging earwax is your thing. I use a Plantronics headset for TF2.

cx300's are good. and no, there are no health problems with them under normal use. just dont crank it up to the gigawatts. eardrums dont like that from any set of headphones.

theres a good discussion here which talks about possible alternatives.

just be sure you like in ear headphones. they are good, but some people find they can become uncomfortable when used for extended periods.

other in ear ones to look for are creative

if you decide you want some headphones with a headband, koss porta pros are quite good, and iGrados have had some good reviews too. both of which are relatively inexpensive.

Yes, CX300 is a pretty decent pair of ear buds for under $50. They are almost same as Creative EP630, some even say it is a rebadged CX300, they look identical except for the printed logo. I’ve listened to them both and sounded exactly the same too. Creative usually goes for less.

Take a look : (Creative on the left, Sennheiser on the right)

Wow those EP630 are half the price of the CX300. I'll probably get those.

    Thanks everyone for the advice.

    Edit: just ordered EP630.

Yeah, I believe they are the same headphones, that happens alot in the headphone world actually. Theres only two major companies that produce the drivers that are in alot of the popular IEM's and these companies will sell the drivers to anyone who will buy them. Different housings can make them sound different, but they'll still sound somewhat alike. But as far as the CX300 and the EP630 goes, they're the same.

I'm starting to doubt now. EP830 is only a little more expensive than EP630.

Do you guys think I will hear the difference?

Well I got the EP630 now because I already ordered it. They seem fine.

If anyone's still looking: EP830 is amazingly cheap on Ebay. Don't know if they are real but they seem to be.
