Hope this isn't too off topic...I've had a HP Deskjet 952c printer since 2000 and love it. I don't use it constantly, but semi-regularly and want to keep it running as long as possible. Would having it serviced extend it's life, or possible screw it up? I know, I can probably go out and buy a cheap all-in-one for less but I love the great sharp text it prints in Draft mode, which is quite fast. I am also amazed by how good a job it does on photos for an eight year old two ink tank printer (though it was $250 back then). The only thing that bugs me is it's only USB 1.

I think that unless it's giving you troubles you shouldn't mess with it.

    If it ain't broke,...
Just didn't know if they should be oiled or lubed or something. Also read about some kind of pad that collects ink overspray filling up.

They're cheap enough, but looks like shipping is commenly as much as the printer, running price up to $50 to take a chance on a used device. Worth a consideration though. Thanks!

    Hi.

If you buy one from your own country`s ebay, the postage price should be a lot lower, the example ebay item i gave was priced as shipping from the US to the UK.

But i suppose you realised that!

    Regards

    John.
