    I have a Dell D830 - specs are Core 2 duo, 2.0gb sdram 667, 120gb hd @5400rpm --

I have a 26" samsung monitor that i run off of it at work and just got a wireless keyboard/mouse (microsoft 6000) and I've noticed that it just seems a little slower than when I didn't have the keyboard and mouse hooked up -- i.e. dragging windows around has a little lag, etc..

Just wondering if I'm taxing the system too much or if it should run this like a champ?

    Thanks.

That resolution is too high anyway.

    Try lowering the resolution .

Whats the DPI of your mouse? For that resolution you need atleast a 1800 DPI mouse.

    It is 1000 dpi i think -- :)

Why is that resolution too high? Do you mean in general or related to using the mouse/keyboard?

i think its the fact that you have a wireless keyboard+mouse. When i had my wireless keyboard, there was a 1/2 second delay from me typing and the words showing up on the screen.....gaming was a nightmare.

There is no lag typing whatsoever or mouse response - just noticed when I drag a window around it has what is best described as "pointer tails" - like the mouse setting?? -- No other noticeable difference - it seems better, maybe it had to calibrate a little bit at the start...

What gfx card do you have? integrated?

Thats called 'choppyness', when it doesnt look or feel smooth at all.

Your resolution is kinda high, so if your running Aero im not suprised

    I have the Intel 950 (i think) Integrated --

I'm running windows xp pro - no vista --

Choppiness is the perfect word - I don't game, just business stuff so its not much of a problem. I can see if gaming or graphic intensive it would be a bother...

I tried turning resolution down but i need the high resolution so i can have two windows open side by side on my 24" monitor

Yeah I run that res great, but then again I have a dedicated graphics card. Lower the resolution and your set.
