Can anyone tell me about the quality of Slappas laptop backpacks and their laptop sleeves?

How quick are they when it comes to shipping the orders out once paid for?

    How's customer service?

    Thanks in advance.

My cousin has a Slappa M.A.S.K. Bag and its great, tons of room, and the material looked like it would hold up good, i think they take pride in the quality of their stuff and make well designed products, and they even listen to feedback from owners to make the products better.

    thanks for replying! :D

Yea, I've read numerous reviews regarding their products. It does seem like they do pay a lot of attention to their products before shipping them out.

Anyways, I purchased this M.A.S.K. Transit backpack:
    M.A.S.K. Laptop Backpack

and this Ballistic P-TAC Matrix 18" sleeve:
P-Tac Matrix sleeves for iPad, Netbook, Macbook, Laptops and Gamer Laptops

I purchased these items on the 15th of March and should be arriving on the 19th of March. That's not bad for ground shipping! :)

You should be happy with your purchases. Slappa makes some great gear. I have the Slappa Velocity Matrix Backpack personally, and it's been through 2 semester of college with no signs of any wear. I had to replace it once, because of a faulty strap that ripped off. They replaced the backpack for free. Good service. (btw, no problems at all with the new backpack. probably just a small issue with the seam...)

Well, I just checked the Fed Ex website and was notified that my package has arrived at my house. I'll check the backpack and sleeve out once I get home. Then I have to wait till my laptop arrives till I can test it out! I can't wait....lol

Once you found out about the faulty strap, how long did it take you to get a new backpack?

    Whats wrong with the seam?

It was the part of the strap that connects to the bottom of the backpack. It started tearing away from the backpack itself. I Sent in a request and some pictures of the damage, they gave me the address to send it to. I had to ship it (my money) to them, they determined it was unfixable and sent a replacement in a couple days. all in all it was a couple weeks (they paid the return shipping) before I got the new one, Ground shipping both ways.

Ahh, I figured they would have paid for shipping both ways but they still sent you a brand new bag which is cool of them to do. Since we purchased directly from them, don't we get a one year warranty with them?

Anyways, I was originally looking to get this:

HardBody PRO 15.4" and 17" Laptop Cases by SLAPPA
    -17in version

Since I deploy to other countries, I want something with a hard shell to protect my laptop then I was thinking the power brick for the Sagers 8170-S1 is huge! So, I assumed it wouldn't fit in the hardbody laptop case so I went with the backpack. I do hope the backpack provides enough protection for my laptop :p...I do love the amount of space this backpack offers though.

I own a Hardbody 17'' pro and Spyder from Slappa, the G73 (almost 18'') fits on both, although in the Spyder is very very tight and the flap dont close, the Hardbody Pro on the other hand fits perfect (and the big brick also has a good compartment), and build from the hardbody pro is really good with a semi hard outside (not fully rigid but can take a good blow), if it can fit the G73 it should have no problems with the 8170, this are the specs of my laptop, Dimensions: 16.6 x 12.8 x 0.08 ~ 2.3 –inches , the backpack is nice, their interior is cloth and not plastic making it very nice for not scratching your laptop, but hard to get it in, i find the hardbody better for transporting my laptop on daily basis and feels better protected (still looking for a roller as it weights a ton). I own other things from Slappa, and all of them are really good, so i keep coming back to them for all my laptops/gadets/heaphones stuff, but owning a lot of their stuff, the hardbody pro imo is a notch above, really happy with it.

I'm glad to hear that the Hardbody Pro worked out perfectly for you. I was originally going to get it, but wasn't sure if the power brick would fit in the case. I may get it in the future though for the long travels I have to make.

Have you used one of their 18" sleeves for your G73?

I love my slappa backpack (review link in my sig). I ordered mine from Amazon.com tho. They even have someone roaming around these forums from time to time and seem like nice folks - which is refreshing vs the most other companies I've dealt with. Based on my limited interaction (I befriended "Slappa Gear" on Facebook) and on 1 bought bag, I'd highly recommend them.

Slappa is the BEST! My M.A.S.K. KOA backpack began to show signs of wear at the handle. I was lugging it around by the handle, but it was usually full of gear weighing 25 pounds so the handle started to tear. I called Slappa and they sent me a replacement first, before I sent the worn one back. Their customer service is top notch. Quality is excellent. Only complaint is my back hurts from packing too much stuff in it.
