I'm looking for a sleeve or maybe a backpack (sleeve preferred though) for my Thinkpad T42. I got a Mobile Edge Select V-Load Case with the T42, but the included sleeve is too big to fit in my Jansport backpack I use for school. Any ideas on a nice sleeve/case? Money shouldn't be a problem.

How much protection do you want?

The people at the thinkpad forum swear by the waterfield case. It's expensive, but apparently everyone who gets it says it's well worth the money. I just ordered a Sumdex Impactguard for my t43 because I wanted something with pretty decent protection, since I'm going to be using it in my unpadded messenger bag. I debated between the waterfield and the sumdex, but decided to try out the sumdex since it was so much cheaper, and it might have more padding on the bottom (though I can't really tell from the pictures).

I also have a bitolithic sleeve ( www.bitolithic.com, i think), which fits well. It is very thin, though - which is great if you just need minor protection without adding any bulk, but is bad if you want more protection.

Check out www.ebags.com, they have so many options, you'll probably find something you like there.

I got my waterfield sleeve for 3 weeks for my t43 about 3 weeks now. this sleeve is definitely worth it and the customer service is great. if i am getting another laptop in the future, i will definitely order a sleeve from waterfield again.

For a simple sleeve I like sumdex.

For something with more protection checkout the monolith or brain cell sleeve at www.tombihn.com . Tombihn also makes great bags, I use the monolith with the brainbag backpack.
